So only Tories are allowed to be rich then? That’s a rather odd thing to think isn’t it?

The press used to use the fact that John Prescott was a ship’s steward as some sort of thing to make fun of. In my view someone who rises from ship’s steward to deputy PM then to the Upper House is someone to be admired.

Tony Blair is allowed to better himself, just like anyone else and why you would think otherwise strikes me as a bit odd.

    Fright Night (1985)

A teenager suspects there is a vampire living next door and he attempts to confront. Slightly odd 1980s horror. Not too bad.

    Jesus Henry Christ (2012)

A genius child tries to find out who his father is. Quirky and endearing comedy with Michael sheen and Toni Collette. Rather enjoyable.

    Outcast (2010)

A beast stalks an Edinburgh council estate and the monster hunter (James Nesbitt arrives to get rid. Gritty British horror. Good stuff.

    Cowboys and Aliens (2011)

Aliens arrive and terrorize a frontier town and are saved by Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. Bizarre premise but well enough done.

Oh God! Not another one. It seems that some among us don’t like debate and facts – what a surprise.

No, I have a talent for upsetting persons who are prejudiced and bigoted. This, in my mind, is a good thing. Also, the more Tories I upset, the better I feel. 🙂

I don’t know where you were coming from but there were roads closed around Woking /Guildford way for the cycling roadrace.
Anyway, it will all be over in a couple of weeks and you can return to normal congestion and not have the Olympics to blame. 🙂

ppp, you like others missed the point. The point was to represent not only Great Britain but the area of London where the games are being held as in that area, the percentages of “ethnic minorities” are very much greater than those you quoted. These games are, I believe, designed to be inclusive and not be some sort of exclusive club for the white middle classes. To be fair, the world is a pretty multicultural place, I know that must be annoying for you but that’s the way it is.

According to the ceremony, or more leftist media, it’s about 35% white… do they wish those other whites didn’t exist? Shocking racism on the part of the left, as usual.

Did you actually watch the ceremony or did you form this opinion from reading Aidan Burley’s tweets? Actually, I think you need to show us some proof of this “35%” number or maybe you just made it up?

BTW, Bob, if you are going to moan about the Olympics, start your own thread. There’s a chap. 😉

Oh I don’t know. CMD, Gideon, Gove, Pickles and the Minister for Rhyming Slang Jeremy Hunt are streets ahead in terms of uselessness, crass policy making and “gaffe-ability”. Long may it continue to ensure they are a one term, one trick government.

It’s probably escaped Aidan Burley and others who complained that Great Britain is in fact a multicultural country. It always has been and it is what makes us what we are. It is something to be proud of.
Thankfully we have moved away from 1948 where the Olympics and indeed the country were dominated by the white male middle class.

I would encourage the party-poopers to start their own Olympic whining thread so they can all be miserable and grumpy in one place. 🙂
