So traditional art is elitist then?

Does it matter whether any art requires training or hard work?

It is the end result that matters.

Do the underwing serial decals come as seperate bits or are they one piece? I ask as it easier to put the decals in place before putting the main gear legs on.

This photo and all the favourable opinion on this forum are another example of ‘the thin end of the wedge’.

You are going to have to explain that one to me and others.

Art is purely a matter of opinion. I’m not sure why others cannot accept that tastes vary.
I like this photo – I don’t care whether the artist took 10 minutes or 10 years of “grinding study” to create it – it is the end result that matters.
Is it worth millions? No I don’t think so but it clearly is to someone and fair play to them.

    The Tourist

Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in a Venice based thriller. Quite enjoyed this actually. Much better than I thought it was going to be.

    London Boulevard

Violent London gangster film. Could have been great but ended up disjointed and confusing at times. Great performances by Colin Farrell and Ben Chaplin. Ray Winstone was, well Ray Winstone.

The photo was modified digitally so it would difficult to reproduce exactly – perhaps not as difficult as a Renoir though.

The artist could indeed print off multiple copies but why would he? Renoir could have made multiple copies of his paintings but he didn’t.

With all paintings and photos isn’t it the image that is important? How it is produced is irrelevant.

    Arthur Pewtey.

    See Al above.

The majority view is that it is meaningless and irrelevant crap, Abstract art is favoured by the talentless. For my money even the Impressionists are suspect. I can do a reasonable ‘impression’ but, I can’t do a Caneletto.

    John Green

Since when has art been “democratic”? It is all to do with varying taste; the sort of differing opinion that made some think Van Gogh’s Sunflowers was rubbish and others to think it is the work of genius.
I happen to like Dali’s work but don’t like Picasso’s work – that doesn’t however mean I am going to dismiss it at “meaningless and irrelevant crap” though. I am prepared to accept that maybe I don’t like it but others might.

You are of course entitled to think it is “meaningless and irrelevant crap”. I don’t and the very fact that it has sold for so much means it is worth something to somebody.

Yet another thread descends inexorably towards Godwin’s Law.

I wonder what is wrong with simply accepting that peoples’ tastes vary?

It worth what anyone is willing to pay.

Personally I like it and would have been proud to have seen and to have taken an image like that.
