Maybe. Hawkeyes have been tested with ski-jumps, & 1) can take off from them & 2) get some benefit from them. But there is also the hydrid alternative previously mentioned.

The hybrid is sky-jump and cats?
Honestly is a non-sense to put brins and cats on a stovl.
Too much expensive. Could be a solution in theory, but honsetly noone could agree to the hybrid.:cool:

The E2C/D are the top AEW, that’s ok.
The question is if it will be possible to operate a Hawkeye without catapults on the CVF stovl carriers?

The Merlin AEW of italian navy doesn’t have the same electronic suite of SeaKing AEW, but new and more powerful electronic suite. Features are not yet available but rumors talk of somenthing as 180 km of discover.

No offense 🙁 to the AEW Merlin but a CTOL type like the Hawkeye is way more capable……:rolleyes:

Of course, but without catapults an E2C Hawkeye can’t take off, so on a stovl carrier as the CVF it’s necessary something as Merln AEW or a not yet existing V22 Osprey AEW.

If the MOD will choose a ctol carrier with F35C and catapults, the E2C (or the new E2D) will be perfect.

But, I don’t think the MoD will choose a ctol…….
