There are more hangar photos of Snipe ZK-SBY from January 2015 in my album

As it was my first sighting of a Snipe I made it a priority – still haven’t seen one fly!
The book ‘On the Wings of History’ has history and photos of each TVAL owned and produced aircraft (2nd edition is up to 2013), including statics for museums.
Bits of the triplane are spread all over the world. The IWM has the engine, the RAF Museum has several pieces
Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre (Blenheim, NZ) has the starboard cross.

Hopefully I will see it in January or February (an airfare sale yesterday meant that I booked flights to Wellington for three days trips from Auckland), weather willing.
An example of not-success is covered in the VC citation for SL Trent RNZAF.
Thanks!
There is a Ventura being restored to display at MOTAT Auckland.

I fancy a flying Stuka. Anyone else agree?
Yes, an iconic type.
BTW, the target amount for external restoration of the MOTAT Solent is NZD500,000 (GBP210,000). Ignore the headline, ‘back to the sky’ isn’t going to happen!
The BAE Systems Twitter account re-tweeted paul Beaver’s tweet without comment, so I would call that confirmed.

The reproduction LVG C.VI for TVAL built alongside the refurbishment of the original shown above is now on its way to NZ.

Issue is
Between now and Christmas, the Trust will be consolidating our various lists and information sources to create a searchable online listing of everyone who has contributed.
Once it is announced and populated, we will give time for it to be checked and corrected if necessary before a final ‘travelling wall’ will be produced for Hangar 3 and placed on display in time for summer.
it is going to be publicly searchable so it can be corrected, so waiting to be contacted definitely isn’t an option if you’re in the middle of a messy break-up and would rather not have someone know that you were rather generous last year. Putting the onus on donors to withdraw their details before it is made public is questionable.
This is assuming that there isn’t something in the methods used to solicit donations that cover this off.
If you knew that your name was going to be viewable in public when you made the donation, you might have flagged it as anonymous (or not to be made public).
He’ll be quite close Sunday after next, at the Warbirds Open Day!
The previous Open Day we were able to get even closer than normal (but still not in the AvSpecs hangar).
Thank you Ewan, there was certainly a positive air when I visited early last year, although many of the changes you mention were not yet in place.
Hopefully at some point I can manage to be in MEL at the same time as you firing something up!
I should think Gene DeMarco probably has more current time on the Sopwith Camel than anyone else, also Sopwith Snipe, RE8, and a few other WW1 types
The Camel point has been put to him in interviews, and he has agreed.
I’ve also seen Keith Skilling and Corsairs mentioned.
Another update – off to the paint shop! Return to flight expected before Christmas.
