So, perhaps we should be cautiously optimistic until there is corroboration, in view of everything which has gone before, as I am sure you would agree.:)
As observed by aviation journalist John Walton on Twitter:

Let’s all repeat: if your sentence starts with “CNN says” about aviation, maybe wait until that’s confirmed directly.
Maybe some of the commentators have worked on radio stations. Where you cannot have a moment’s silence ?
In the case of at least one NZ commentator, you can work on radio and know when to (not) talk. It helps that he is a self-confessed avgeek.
It had been at the AusFly event at Narromine, NSW (some 700km to the north) for the weekend – I actually saw it taxi for take-off this morning via Periscope.tv.
The main thing his he walked away.
Just pulling this out of the report, as there was some discussion on the point earlier.
Ground crew reported that the pre-flight checks and engine start were normal and that the safety pins
for the pilot’s ejection seat had been removed and placed in the stowage provided prior to
departure to arm the seat and its associated systems.
Another day at the (Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre) office:
Facebook video, but no account required.

By the way, the area between the camera and the fence is available before and during the show (or any time at all actually) for good viewing of aircraft activity. The hangar containing the black triplane replica is the first of four immediately behind the OAHC, and doors for the flyable aircraft in the OAHC are to the left also. Access to the runways is to the right. Most joyrides (e.g. in the Stearman just visible in the video) depart from this area.
Well, the P-40s are no worse, at least!
I’ve finally watched Memories of Manna (aviation docos are better entertainment than most offerings on in-flight systems), very good.
The MOTAT Lancaster is now in the markings off the longest-serving 75 (NZ) Sqn Lance, complete with an Op Manna symbol.

Indeed! There are several surviving ex-NEIAF Ryans. At least one (Ardmore NZ based) is in NEIAF colours.

Great stuff Mikey, can’t wait to see it fully painted up!
Can I order a V2 when you have finished this one :stupid:
Omaka have half of a ‘dud’ V2 (what was left after the top half was blown to many thousands of bits, upended in a small diorama behind one end of the crowd line).
A wee heads-up
