Maybe a tad harsh on the P51 (Greggs Pasty ?) but I understand your point.
I think as a pax experience ( although have tried neither) the Spit or P.51 would be broadly comparable. As a matter of fact, a YAK-11 (which I have tried) would probably not feel much different to a gentle whizz-round in a Spit, and would probably cost Harvard money, if you could find one 😉
However, for bragging rights, it has to be SPITFIRE, cos that;s the legend, innit ?
Here’s a taste of a Yak-3M flight. I don’t think this particular one is Part 115 operated, however.
In NZ you can buy Spitfire, P-40 and Harvard rides from http://www.warbird.co.nz/
Also Strikemaster rides from http://www.jetfighter.co.nz/index.php/the-missions
The NZ Warbirds Assn has recently become a Part 115 operator too, and offer Harvards (and I think P-51).

Wow Mark, this Peter Arnold character seems to rival you for his knowledge of Supermarine’s finest! 😉
I do hope the aircraft will reappear in RAAF colours as I imagine such an “exotic” variation would be welcomed on the UK scene.
Careful what you wish for, you might get a shark’s mouth!

I quite like what they have done in here. A bit more access to some of the aircraft and views of them you wouldn’t see if they were sitting on the ground. …
I noticed when in MOTAT this week that two of the hung aircraft are agricultural types, with specialist fittings that are more visible from below. A case of making virtue out of necessity I think (given that they had to hang a few).
They are the Agwagon and Fletcher turboprop visible above the Solent in this photo.

There are also a couple of Ag types on the floor.

There is a long audio interview with Joe Anderson and Art Nalls at
http://omegataupodcast.net/2014/05/148-flying-the-harrier/
In our little series on interesting aircraft, this episode covers the Harrier, the iconic VTOL fighter. Our guests are Joe Anderson and Art Nalls, who both fly Art’s civilian Harrier in airshows. We discussed the history of the Harrier and its predecessors, talked about its use in the military and the advantages of STOVL and then discussed in some details the intricacies of flying a Harrier (compared to other aircraft). We concluded by talking about Art and Joe’s airshow activities.
For those in the UK here is the Listen Again link
There are no geo-restrictions on BBC Radio.
Now, can we persuade someone to paint a Mk I Spit in Al Deere’s markings please?
Well if you offered to swap a Mk I for Brendon Deere’s current one…

I think I am right in saying that elsewhere Remembrance Day is the 11th regardless of which day of the week it falls.
ANZAC Day is always the 25th April.
Until very recently, in NZ there was no replacement weekday off if it fell in the weekend (or other holiday, as happened recently when it fell on Easter). While it is a ‘normal’ public holiday for most, there are strict restrictions on commercial activities before Noon.
The boss knows how to run things, and ZK-FOK has a 220hp Continental radial, while the other TVALs have 165hp Warners.
Yes, ZK-FKD has been listed in a couple of reliable websites with a Rotec.
I’m hoping to see the black one join them, come Easter!
The Aussie Dr.1 will get a good viewing at Avalon Airshow next year, along with several TVAL machines of different types (a TVAL Dr.1 is also listed).

Here is a list of airworthy replicas/reproductions that I have, though certainly cannot be absolutely complete. To illustrate the popularity of the over-all red “Red Baron” paint scheme, I have included (R/B) next to each example painted as such. A few of these Dr.1 replicas/reproductions have remained ground-bound for a while.

TVAL’s have (since 2007) been in Jasta 11 schemes. From 2002 to 2006 ZK-FOK was (per On the Wings of History):
Fokker Dr.1 152/17 was only partially red and was flown by von Richthofen as a reserve aircraft.
