The two DC-3s in NZ operate under airline licences, but we don’t have the e.g. armoured door requirements. I assume the Anson will be under Adventure Aviation Part 115.

Goes nicely with the Anson Mk.1 flights being done at Classic Fighters Omaka.

Nice new set with a taxy, and rockets fitted

Edit: and link to a TV clip, not sure if it is available outside NZ

Now in limited cinema release in Australia and NZ, and planned for Dec 17th in USA.
Hats off to them, they’ve not only turned out three Mossies but managed to represent most of the schemes the fighter-bomber types wore – just need the SEAC and post-war versions now!
Well the second was in a postwar scheme briefly, just not an RAF one…
I’m glad it isn’t in one of the CC schemes with all the letters ahead of the roundels, they look odd!
For a change, the next one is going to the UK!
Good news, the one in NZ is now at Tauranga being returned to flight.

Hornets at Pioneer

Hopefully I get to look in the Pioneer hangar again in a few weeks too (Wings Over NZ Xmas Meetup next door on the 8th). Given the P-40 projects and Kingfisher in there, no room for large bit of anything!
Update from NZ Warbirds re Nov 18th Open Day
PZ474 a British built de Havilland DH98 Mosquito is set shortly to fly over Auckland skies once again and will be on static display at the Open Day, fully completed but not yet cleared to fly. We may be able to have her started and taxy. Her new paint scheme is on and she looks amazing.
…
Extraordinarily with her own original Merlin engines being refitted, having been overhauled in the States, PZ474 is in the final stages of her fabulous restoration here at Ardmore and test flying is imminent. Her magnificent camouflage paint work is being completed, the D-Day invasion stripes added, rockets and mounts fitted to the under-wing and all the final attention to details concluded.
Subritzky‘s at Dairy Flat, NZ also have one (or rather significant bits), possibly NZ413/DG702

It was going to be for the Mosquito Pathfinder Trust, but they (Aircraft Restoration Company + AvSpecs) are now finishing Glyn Powell’s NZ2308. So no declared ultimate owner that I am aware of.
Sir Peter has been involved in a couple of museum projects that weren’t as successful as planned, due to other people not contributing funds as he hoped. Which sums things up nicely I think.
