Fingers crossed that it will be available for viewing at NZ Warbirds Open Day on 18/11/18
And the start of the paint job (so very boring!) on Facebook
Some photos from the War Memorial Museum at http://rnzaf.proboards.com/post/269582/thread
I’m hoping to see it on the Nov 18th Open Day! Along with the P-39.
To be correct Neil S, it was in a statement in a publication’s report, which was quoted by a forum member. I tried to comment on the source webpage, but there was a technical problem there.
I’m pleased to report that the original now reads
This aircraft is one of several faithful replicas of WWI-era combat aircraft replicated over the past decade in New Zealand by The Vintage Aviator Ltd. (now fully active again following a period of reorganization).
And the finish off, I popped around to the Warbirds hangars

I’m looking forward to the NZ Warbirds Open Day on November 18th, and they may do a flypast on the 11th? But I’ve got Warbirds Downunder at Temora NSW in a couple of weeks!

Wonderful to see the Gull flying along with the warbirds. Really good photography. Any more of the Airtrainer? (I fly an NZ built Airtourer here in the UK).
No more from that day, but click through the below to see a few of Airtrainers and Airtourers from last November’s Open Day

Thanks for the comments, last batch will be tonight.
Cheers, they returned after doing flypasts at Auckland War Memorial Museum, and MOTAT.

First back were the fighters, unsurprisingly.

More in the (my) morning.
Not great view of take-offs from the grass, especially sad as the Messenger (which I hadn’t seen fly since 2012 or so) used it, so no more takeoff photos from there
Once the Harvards were ready, the fighters took off from outside the Aero Club (near where the twin taxiways connect the runways), so not a great angle either.

As stated in the thread, the museum team would love to hear from people with experiences in or with these machines, so please share.
And they plan to display several/many aircraft at Wings Over Wairarapa (Masterton) in February.

Errol,There is a complete sub forum for issues with the forum.
The update had been announced some months ago, and whilst it may not have been common knowledge, it was known about.
It is starting to improve – the speed is a little better today, and posting isn’t taking as long. At the end of the day, its a service that is provided at no cost to its users.
So the response to a post about appalling communication is to refer to obviously ineffective prior communications (and are you referring to a single reply post in January in a forum that most would not bother going to?) There should have been pinned new threads in all forums, with reminders a few days before, as well as pro-active gathering of and response to reported issues – certainly once it was clear things have not gone as planned.
And the response to ‘Which leaves users feeling abandoned, and much more likely to decide not to bother.’ is the above. Sums it up, I’m afraid.

Its being worked on – there are multiple issues at present. It did briefly get faster on Friday, but now appears to be slower than ever. The team at Key are working on it – I don’t think they expected the issues that we are seeing.
They are? The appalling communication is part of the issue. No warning. Obvious performance issues not followed up with even a ‘Report issues here’ thread (doing this pre-emptively would have given a much better sense that things were being managed). No apology. No stated plan, or progress reports.
Which leaves users feeling abandoned, and much more likely to decide not to bother.
There could be several people working hard on fixing things. Or one person only allowed to work on it when other duties permit.
All of which is rough on those working on things, and mods who are tainted by association when they have no power to do anything about it.

Whenever I click on the link below, I see that the latest post in the Historic Forum is dated today, by Nicko, in the “Projects wants and trades” thread, yet when I proceed into the Historic Forum itself, that thread is nowhere to be seen?https://forum.keypublishing.com/forum
Before I even get to that first page though, I get a really annoying error page telling me that the site is not secure and I have to add it to Firefox as an exemption. Every time!
Are you getting to the forum using that exact link (https: and .com)? Or a saved link to the old .co.uk address?
Anon started a topic “New” Forum issues.

It’s probably me being dilatory but, if something doesn’t appear to work easily I usually blame myself, but resent the designers of such devices and consider them to be “fixing somethin’ that aint broken”.For instance; I have just posted on the “Holiday Snaps From Narsarssuak” thread, which then states, on the main index page, that there are no replies to it. Including my own, there are five.
Also, having a look at Blue_2’s latest tribulations with his beloved Meteor I found that I either have to click the forward button on the pages 64 times to get to page 64, or I highlight the page number, put in the page number I want then press return. It was easier before and quite straightforward. Why change it?
I’m fairly sure that the old design was broken, just not in ways that were obvious to the user – apart from when it crashed for days at a time, remember that? And if security was outdated, things like user passwords could be recoverable – again not obvious to users.
Re page numbers, you can also scroll to the bottom of the page, and select the page number button you want. Every other forum design I can remember seeing in recent years has specific buttons for the first page and last page, generally at both top and bottom of the displayed page (rather than different interfaces at the top and bottom of the page). Also when I go select last post or first new post from the entry for Duxford Diary on the Topics page, it only admits to the existence of 13 pages (up to June). I have to use other options to actually see recent posts in that thread.
