Not in the slightest bit jealous. No, not even a tiny bit. Honest.
I have a feeling that “Allison Johnson” turned out to be someone posting bovine ordure (Windermere Sunderland comes to mind), if so I doubt you’ll get an update.
Interesting – I couldn’t see the WIX thread at all – in fact, it looked as though no-one had posted there in days.
ETA – how the hell did he get out of that in one piece? I certainly wouldn’t have turned down a glass of something strong if I’d just been extracted!
I saw it once at Duxford, and seem to recall that it made a rasp that made the Harvard sound possibly muted. Wonder how much of that was to do with the bigger engine?
Yes, Wethersfield – saw it on the Beeb website earlier.
Whooshed over my head in North Oxford as I cycled home. You know what, I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever spot anything else!
(incidentally, apparently there’s B52s very high transitting from Spain to Norway, but flagged on FR24. Methinks sabres are beinng rattled)
Kidlington has been London Oxford for at least 20 years. They reckon that you can get to London faster than from Gatwick, which Ican well believe.
Holy carp – where did those turn up?
That’ll soon planish out!
Ah – I started one too, I’ll leave that to die and add to here, you all know what I’ve spotted anyway, as there’s not a lot else round here at the mo!
Weekend before last (14-15th), Skyvan heading into Brize Norton. Quite funny to watch as it was taking, doubtless for ATC reasons, the same path into Brize as the Globemasters and A400s – so was making an enormously wide circuit, and descending very gradually indeed!
Splendid, thank you! I wasn’t aware that Hurley was in Palestine at any point, so I’ve learnt summat.
Fascinating, thank you! Do you know what the colour process was? It looks sharper than autochromes, but I can’t remember when Dufaycolour arrived (1932, sez Uncle Google, so it’s not that)
…especially as another new member has posted exactly the same link in a thread that it seems to bear no relation to!
Oh hell. That’s the second piece of really bad news I’ve had in five minutes, but thsi really trumps the first.
It does sound an unlikely story but then again, after the fun of the Burma Spitfires, who’d have thought someone would dig up a wing on Orkney?
