that funny jet helicopter built by Hunting Percival
Would that be the Rotordyne? I thought Fairey built that.
Took a pic of the one at Flixton yesterday. Will try and remember to post it later.
Thanks for your kind words peeps. 🙂
A cretinous website, clearly written by a busybody NIMBY with nothing better to do. No-one actually listens to the likes of this character, in fact they just leave themselves open to ridicule, but at least feel like they’re making a valid point. Anyone who e-mails him, then I’d say keep it polite, but why bother? To e-mail him is to show that his site is getting readers!
Well said mate. 🙂
Still an ongoing project, but those of us involved are very happy with the look and feel of it so far!
I drove past that museum in Autumn 2002. Looked in a pretty bad state. Could make out a Caravelle and a few MiG-21s from what I saw. Everything looked pretty grim.
Dunno about being a convert – but its certainly on my list of “possibles” before seasons end… 🙂
Never been to Old Warden. People rave about how good it is, so I might have to give it a try.
Must say these “forgotten planes” threads are a good gander… 🙂
And you thought Rasta Cat needed a lick of paint!!!!
Seriously, the Cat’s a lovely beast, good to see as many of ’em as possible in the air.
what the heck were they confusing for a Vulcan????
Nimrod, I seem to remember…
Isn’t there a silver and yellow RAF marked machine at Duxford too?
There’s been a “Vulcan” in the flying programme of a couple of shows I’ve been to this year, listening to the plebs around me.
Makes you realise that a lot of aircraft in museums, no matter how complete they appear to the eye, are missing an awful lot of bits! (Not all as many as this Sea Harrier, obviously)
