The Skyraider was awesome at Kemble last week – a real highlight of the display.
I’ll be there – always a good little show. Little disappointed with the flying programme this year though, as apart from the Teichman Spit, it’s last year’s show minus Sally B. Wish the organisers would try and develop the show year on year…
She’s a smoky old girl ain’t she! The “money better spent elsewhere” comment earlier is indefensible if not meant tongue in cheek. I had the privelige of seeing the Vulcan run at Southend in May, and have nothing but praise for the volunteers who give their time to keep these beasts active.
Thought it was a very good report – good friend of mine was the reporter! 🙂
Take big hats off especially, as they block the shot all too frequently.
Out of interest, did anyone see the bloke/expletive deleted sat up against the crowdline fence at Kemble on Sunday, just left of the taxiway with the massive green umbrella? It must have been eight feet wide. I hope he heard me call him a “selfish ****”
It’s a cracking read too. I got a hardback copy for Christmas a couple of years back – well worth getting, especially at that silly price!
Thanks Kilvy – I suspect the red hue to the Tristar shot is either the top of someone’s car, or someone’s head! Either way it works rather nicely 😉
I heard a rumour people were being charged £15 for the open day – can anyone confirm that?
First I’ve heard. Phantom Phantoms from the sound of it…
Kemble was a brilliant show in glorious weather – can’t see any reason in the world not to recommend it!
Corking stuff Dan – the Hurricane/Spit break is one of your best ever.
Use as many of em as you like!
11 years since I took my GCSEs – insanely easy from what I can remember. My advice to anyone taking them now, is don’t get too stressed about them. And remember, as far as exam boards are concerned, and from my experience, using big words can hide a lack of knowledge. Worked a treat (and still is…) for me.

Reminder that this was a thread about the state of poor old XL391 chaps… 😉
