Two new additions…
Which are?
…and we’re still worried about the Hunter at the Airfix Humbrol factory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes we certainly are. And the problem with that is???
I would argue that a Hunter, especially a genuine RAF F.6 example such as this, is more deserving of a place in a British museum than a Phantom.
Given that there are fewer than 50 ‘proper’ RAF Hunters preserved in the UK (and STILL some are getting dumped in paintball parks and sunk in lakes) out of 2,000 built, I don’t personally think the Phantoms are doing too badly.
Thanks a LOT Wieesso!!
she’s a bit faded, but its the real deal alright. You can just make out a cartoon “Fighting ****” on her nose. Its the small details like that im after. They can totally change a scale models appearance.
Any more?

I wouldn’t get too excited about that one if I were you because it’s certainly not it’s original colour scheme. In fact it’s a Danish F.51 that was made up to look like a 43 Sqn. F.1 so there’s no guarantee that the scheme is absolutely right.
In fact it was pretty well done, but there’s no stencilling, warning signs etc. on there to give it the proper ‘look’.
If you want to get it right then I’d rely on original, in-service photos only.

How much is the โearly birdโ entry fee?
15 quid ๐ฎ
I’d be interested in knowing how much interest these drawings might generate.
YES! YES! YES!
I’d definately be interested. Then maybe I could finish this…

I guess Mark G’s Hunter would be the highest mark number in the UK, at the end of the line??
….you will have to say pretty please, and lend him a trailer. ๐
Not quite the highest mark number overall (marks 80 and 81 for Kenya), but certainly the highest mark number in the UK.
Do I win a prize? ๐
…through to the hi numbered export versions.
I ‘spose that’ll be me then! I doubt I’ll need much persuading so, all being well, I’ll be there.:)
I was offered some AW made parts recently with what looked like hawker part numbers. Wonder if they are sea hawk…
They could also be Hunter parts as AW did a lot of the upgrade work for the export aircraft. If you PM me some part nos. I’ll check them for you.
Cheers…M
Mark G said: “although that plan may be subject to ‘mission creep’ in the future!”
Mark I’m glad to hear it! I suggest that you just be done with it, and apply for planning permission for that 40ft garage extension now….. ๐
Oh, if only!:)
Mark,
That mossie panel looks great will it end up being a complete cockpit one day?
Thanks Peter.
It will certainly be a section of cockpit fairly soon. I would love to continue and construct the whole nose section though. The only thing stopping me is room to build it. The two moulds will take up a lot of room that I haven’t got.:(

Have you tried the Ardrox Cafe? QUOTE]
Am I right in thinking you gotta be an Eagles fan to get that one? ๐
Roger Smith.
No, but you need to have eaten at a Hard Rock Cafe somewhere.
Geddit? Ardrox Cafe? Anyone? Hmmm. Maybe it’s just me then……..:D:D ๐
Anybody know where i can source this Ardrox 2814 please ?
.
Have you tried the Ardrox Cafe?
HA! HA! HA! I’m here all week!!!
Also is that photo of the cabin really the replica they’re building? It looks like a railway carriage a bit.
Looks like a railway carriage? Hmm, funny that…
“Right: John (left) and Neil Farley discussing interiors in a similar environment, a Pullman railway carriage.”
Now that, following Cockpitfest, I have a photo of all the bits fixed together for the first time I can show you my Mosquito bomber panel. There’s still a lot of work to do and it’s currently held in a temporary jig. The plan is to build a short section of fuselage to house it all in, although that plan may be subject to ‘mission creep’ in the future!
