Panels
Great Work – I particularly like the Memphis Belle Panel – it looks good the way you done it – colours toned down a bit with that 25 mission look
Nose Art
Tom – while not strictly A2 Art – check out this panel at the Kingman Museum – they have a small display relating to the Base there and the silver fleet ,after I took this shot I walked out the exit and into a Cactus Bush – its thorns were embedded in my arm – owch – will be careful when out in the Mid West again !!
Lucky Partners was the B17
Skipper
Man that Skipper A2 is beautiful – you just gotta love those vets , they are a treasure !
Legends
I would just like to be able to attend cos if u work in the NHS u Hardly ever get a weekend off 😡
I echo snappers comments that it would be good to get a large bunch of veterans in attendance and not exclusively signing prints / books, – are they available for the general public to have a chat with ,it seems quite difficult to chat with a high profile veteran .In the States they make a presentation to an audience and answer questions, -well they did at Reading PA – the Vets from the Easy Company ( Band of Brothers ) gave a question and answer session .
Yanks Event
Ha Dave – if u are ever in Manchester UK in Mid August drop me a line and I will take you to Yanks Event and even buy you a pint …or three – considering you would pay so much to get over here thats the least I could do 😀
Heaven Sent
This has to rank right up there with the all time great A2 ‘s – from an aesthetic and artistic viewpoint it is awesome – the name and implications are awesome too , will also add one of Royal Flush – another famous 100th plane
Period Dress
Well here’s one of me in my original USAAF Officers Uniform
Yanks Event at Uppermill , Saddleworth ,Manchester
pretty great weekend with a great 40’s dance
uniforms
I have a very nice ORIGINAL USAAF Jacket , pinks and Garrison Cap ,if you wanna see it maybe I will add a photo
At Molesworth one year I saw a guy in an Original Polish Airforce Uniform from WW2 – very authentic and brought a real period feel to that dance , at one point I thought I was in a timewarp
Engines
Thanks – So what happened about the engine that blew on the French Machine ( Mother and Country ) -did they get a swapper from somewhere for that one or just replace a cylinder
Were you in the nose of Sally B when she buzzed Thorpe Abbotts in 92 or 94 they were boh great flypasts but the one in 94 Was THE best
the sales crew at TA said you just loved sitting up there in that nose watching East Anglia drift by

A2 Art
Steve – when I get another A2 I will ask you to do it , I would be a bit lost for names though – I would be a bit torn between Piccadilly Lilly , Bachelors Heaven , Waac Hunter ,but courtesy of Tom I saw a cool one recently called

The Web Page is awesome aint it
I will hopefully go to that Museum one day – – maybe in two or threee years when the 17 E is flying too – and he has pretty much all his inventory flying on one day – I am not sure if they would need to have an Airshow for Fund Raising Purposes but it would be an awesome spectacle
Thanks Ron

Superb Link Tom ,my Boeing Belle A2 is the only one i have
Fletchers Castoria is original and a keeper I think
i hadn’t heard about any break ins at Thorpe Abbotts – that would be horrendous
My friend in Phoenix Earl Benham owns the Hard Luck Jacket – its in amazing condition for its age – he had the foresight to save it and not hand it in to a charity store !!
A2’S
Tom – have a look at this – a well known 100th Ship – think she was written off in a taxi accident at Thorpe Abbotts
I will have a look for some books on ebay – I dont really have room for more books but Flying Cowboys would be worth making a shelf extension for !
