The “PC Brigade” is something bandied around by those who think that somehow they have a right to say what they like to who they like. They then cry “freedom of speech” when confronted by those that take offence by what they’ve said.

Think of it this way, if you wouldn’t say it to their face, don’t say it at all.

The OP’s story is hardly the fault of the legendary PC brigade. It was one woman who took offence at a product and asked the manufacturer to change it. And they did. Good for them.

Well we do have a fairly effective sanction if politicians fail to meet our expectations. We don’t vote them and they lose their jobs. I wish that happened in industry.

Apart from the loan to the Sheffield Forgemasters, Huhne’s political career wasn’t too disastrous.

Seems a bit harsh to me. They are hardly a serious threat to society. A very large fine would have been much more appropriate. They are going to cost the tax-payer considerably more by being in prison.
Careers, family, marriage in tatters, I think that’s probably enough.

Lots of anti-politicians here and yet none come up with a credible or sensible alternative.
