Can you still not do any better?

Maybe, what I lack is the inclination to search through 1700 (in 4 months!) posts.
I’m sure you’ll interpret that as some sort of lack of evidence but as they say in the modern vernacular, “whatever” 🙂

The perpetuation of your examples implies a list of sorts. So you have managed to find two examples. Brilliant. That really does support your accusation doesn’t it?

    Your comment demanded nothing less.

Ah… the old misquote to backpedal your way out. I see some things haven’t changed.

What I actually said was “those, like yourself, who…. “. If you want to interpret that as meaning it’s all about you, then what can I say?

Chairman of the Anti Metrication board.

I measure as well in metric

    How awkward for you.

If you find it easy to use both sets of units, why be Anti-Metrication?

Why not use the easier system of the two?

The myth on show here is that somehow metric measurements are connected in some way to the EU. Yes, most countries use metric measurements. That is, most countries in the WORLD. Only the UK and the US perpetuate in using an archaic system that everyone else got rid of years ago.

An obsession with 10? How many fingers have you got?
Actually, I think we’re getting to the crux now. It’s because it’s French isn’t it! Never mind if it’s better and easier, it’s French!

The democratic and accountable monolith that controls practically every aspect of our daily lives.

Really? You and all the rest of Farage supporters have really fallen for all the falsehoods and Euromyths haven’t you. If we actually leave the EU (which we won’t) do you really think that all of our problems will be solved? They will only just be starting.

Sorry to have disturbed the anti-EU diatribes but I felt that lone voices such as SNAFU352 needed support. Maybe not so lonely as recent polls show a lead for those who wish to stay in the EU. Perhaps the light is dawning. :diablo:

Would you be kind enouigh to list the examples of “internet garbage, false stories, virus hoaxes etc”, which I have perpetuated on here?

A list? There’s a list? You have been busy! Having said that, there is an example directly above. 🙂
I think I’m also right in saying Lincoln7 posted one a few weeks ago about a virus.

Would you elaborate on the cabbage regulations – I was unaware of them?

    Nice try!

Prejudice has many guises – hasn’t it ?

    What does that actually mean?

One doesn’t have to invent anything concerning the EU – ‘they’ do it for themselves.

Maybe you could give us some examples?

Wait, let me help. You mentioned about the EU making us give up our “beloved” imperial measurements. The UK committed to metric measurements before we were even members of the Common Market. Once committed however some aspects of trading should be carried out in common measurements. It allows a level playing field across the continent. You won’t find many complaining about not having to convert units all the time. The EU has no plans to get rid of pints or miles (sadly).

    You posted it without:-

    a) checking it was true

    and

    b) without comment

My original post was directed at those, like yourself, who perpetuate internet garbage, false stories, virus hoaxes etc. Whether you agree with it or not, the reporting of it is enough. These false stories should checked, then if found to be false – discarded.

You’ll be posting the one about the EU regulations on cabbages next as proof of EU bureaucracy. 🙂

As SNAFU352 says, I shudder to think what other rubbish is posted in the support of particular points of view.

No, I agree. I didn’t post because I agreed with it all, although I do with some of it, but in response to Lincoln 7’s post.

I am not sure if DerekF is referring to Mrs Gillard’s comments or members’ comments. And if so which prejudices?

Is that the sound of rapid back-pedalling I hear?

.M.H.O. in spite of those here who don’t agree with what she has stated, I admire her having the guts to stand up for HER people, all we seem to bother is Gay people getting married!!,

It wasn’t Gilliard that made those comments. It’s just a load of old internet rubbish that keeps getting bandied around and re-posted by those who need their points of view reinforced by whatever means they can – even if it turns out to be a load of garbage.

I simply have to make a brief return to the Daily Ma.. sorry the General Discussion forum to laugh at the way these posts are used to reinforce existing prejudices while having no basis in fact.:D

    Another load of xenophobic rubbish
