As is Devine Brown….
[QUOTE]As for fighter-like bombers: what about the Mirage IV? B-58? Vigilante (designated as attacker, but a carrier-based bomber in every sense of the word)?
Funny you mention the Mirage IV. The French AF did some air to air tests with the Miragr IVA and had it dogfight with a Mirage III. Guess what? The Mirage IV won! The bigger wing, esp at high altitude helped it beat it’s smaller brother…
But prop aircraft like the Spitfire quite literally shake themselves to bits at such speeds.
How many 20mm rounds needed to down a Cessna anyway?
UAV’s will probably be used firstly for more dangerous taskings such as SEAD and EW as well as recon.
Along with F-15’s and F-111’s of course…
For Air to Ground, I’d go for…hmm let’s see…Tornado GR4. Of course. like the F-15E, the Morage 2000D can defend itself better if bounced by a Mig-23, Mig 29 or Su-27.
Mind you, the Tornado has the option to get low and fast and simply do a runner. I’d say a clean Tornado should be able to outrun an Su-27 at 250 feet.
Yes, it was a US cartoon sitcom from the mid /late 70’s. think the Simpsons, King of the Hill and Family Guy, this show had much of the sarcasm and aldult humour 20 years earlier. Althogh a cartoon, it was very adult orientated, but shown when kids would be home from school in the early evening / late aft.

[QUOTE]What was that American TV show about the judge and that criminal that had the cool car?
Hardcastle & McCormack was the title. I think it was about a retired judge who vowed to turn bounty hunter and track down crooks who’d jumped bail. He was aided by a petty crook who decided to work for him in return for escaping a jail sentance.
Remember Crazy Like a Fox?
and Hunter? A cut price Dirty Harry.

Not the Nine O Clock News – remember the scene when Rowan Atkinson or Gryff Ryhss Jones goes into a newsagents and buys a copy of the Daily Star and a porno mag. Thinking he’d wrap the Daily Star around the porno mag, he does the exact opposite…after all, who wants to bee seen with a copy of the Daily Star?:)

[QUOTE]Imagine going to the gulf of Tonkin now and pulling these a/c up out of the depths and restoring them
After 3 decades of salt water, I should think they’d be in pretty poor condition by now…
Let’s not forget The New Statesman with Rik Mayal as Tory MP Alan B’stard. Summed up the Thatcher gov’t to a T.
And of course Spitting Image.
Oh, and Not the Nine O Clock News.
