    In fact, The pilot said that it flew with a “combat representative” load
    and didn’t answer further on when asked what amount of fuel was onboard.

    The interview has been linked early on (yesterday) and is quite informative to see.

    “The Mission’s UAV strength has been severely undermined during last several months,” an OSCE spokesperson told C4ISRNET in an emailed message. “Apart from long-range UAVs, our mid-range and mini-UAVs were targeted during that time as well.”

    The specific long-range aircraft affected were the Austrian-made Schiebel Camcopter S-100s. “

    None of what was demoed could be matched by any of the eurocanard. I think that was the goal. Classy (no bragging) and efficient.

    Regarding the pic with the Thunderbirds, as it was written already times ago about this very specific image (and video), this only prove the faster design cruise speed of the F35 Vs that of the older F16. The slow speed regime being handled by the body lift.

    Manually controlled landing just like in the old days (although Ryan’s didn’t have that shinny set of remote control (see old vids 😉 )

    Isn’t the Shiebel design the one booted out of Ukraine because of its inability to resist any Russian jamming?

    Yes that’s what I understand. But I Misread the nbr of Aim9 launched. Still would be interesting to know how that one missed from half a mile.

    Flawed flight-control logic triggered AW609’s in-flight break-up: report

    ANSV says the accident happened during a third round of high-speed dives using the programme’s second flight-test prototype (N609AG), with two previous efforts that day having passed off without incident.

    The pilots commenced the dive with a 180° left turn, aiming for a speed of 293kt (542km/h), but on roll-out observed the start of “slight lateral-direction oscillations”.

    These were not initially countered as the crew believed they were “self-damping” but as they grew in amplitude and frequency, the pilot flying attempted to correct the roll with “counterphase input roll manoeuvres and then pedal inputs”.

    “However these actions did not dampen the oscillations, which instead became divergent, bringing the sideslip angle to reach values above the maximum allowed in those speed conditions,” says ANSV.

    Flawed flight-control logic meant that pilot inputs to counter the excessive roll, and then yaw, had the effect of simply amplifying them, it says.

    This caused the AW609 to reach a sideslip angle of 10.5° – well above the 4° maximum – “so inducing contact of the right proprotor with the right wing due to excessive flapping of the proprotor blades”. […]
    ANSV says insufficient flight and wind tunnel testing of the aircraft’s new tail configuration contributed to the lack of data on how it would perform at speed.

    High-power electromagnetics coming to Air Force

    Under the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, Raytheon “will focus on the analysis of HPEM systems and their integration with a variety of airborne platforms,” according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. “This includes utilization of simulation tools to assess the proposed integrated platform’s performance in mission operations.”
