If you re-read me you’ll see that my comment was on the reality of Doubling or tripling and have significant production shares in India while having rescinding Falcon’s orders and anemic Rafale prospect (thanks in part to the siphoning of incentives for foreign buyer resulting from the deal with Egypt)…

I don’t put the SH in the same class as the 35. The F35C is the successor and thus has many additional capabilities that can’t be fielded/achieved by an older iteration on a cost-effective way (if achievable). This includes also design and production cost reduction methods. You’ve yourself insisted for example on the low upgrade cost potential numerous times.

it has been a two step approach and they have been successful. In term of cost, the SH, a naval aircraft, achieves mission capabilities at a lower acquisition cost than its rivals (naval and ground based), something that can’t be left unnoticed.

Well… But in anyway it won’t help his alleged goal to cut down cost when the direct effects of his action alter the stocks of their defense partners: the impact on available capital for the R&D is direct and less privately funded research equal more cost for the taxpayer, directly and indirectly as support cost increases (less mission achievements at equal cost, larger logistic footprint etc…).
Re-doing things that were already settled add also costs, direct an future. It breaks the natural leaning impact of competition by bringing back actors and idea that were discarded during a selective process.
