Mirage 4000 just wasn’t pretty. If it had been similar to Rafale perhaps it would have been marketable….
I can ensure you that at the time the 4k was a looker, a wild beast with an appeal only seen in the Eagle (especially in desert cammo!). Now, it’s easy to mock its Flagoon look and large outdated delta wing.
Anyway, apart from the massive RCS that can be expected with the large intake, the size of the nose and the potential to host a large antennae might still draw some appeals among many Rafale’s pilots (and thermo engineers) 😉
