Because of their increased presence in-theatre and the variety of those, less data sharing is available.
So less plane, more needs for self provided SA.
Also, cheek arrays increase maintenance time, cost and complexity. It is possible that with the available Tech today, the benefit has outpaced the burden.
Rafale had no cheek array as well. Nor Gripen A/C 😉

Except that a sealed nose cone will probably extend the service life and minimize potential damages relatively to the one that has to be periodically re-open for the maintenance (at least) of the swivel mechanism.
Such fixed antenna will also be granted stationnary surrounding condition whereas the mobile one will encounter a dynamic surrounding environment. Electronic components generally endure and perform better in stationary conditions (think heat management and software/hardware precision).
Egyptian Ministry of civil aviation denies Le Figaro’s report
the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s media office manager, Bassem Sami, denied on Saturday that his ministry had received any technical reports from the Egyptian prosecution until now about traces of TNT on EgyptAir flight MS804’s debris.
He moreover stressed in media statements that the Egyptian investigation committee did not receive reports that any traces of TNT were found on the debris

ATSB last report cast doubt on fire theory
The ATSB said in its report on the two pieces recovered near Sainte Luce on the south-east coast of Madagascar, that a dark grey colouration on most of both sides of the items were due to “an applied resin and was not the result of exposure to heat or fire”.
The larger piece had three small marks “resulting from localised heating”, but there was “no evidence of overall gross heat damage”.
“The origin and age of these marks was not apparent,” the ATSB added
There were three small marks on one fragment that smelt burnt – but the heat damage appeared to be recent and a result of “localised heating”, the ATSB added.
“It was considered that burning odors would generally dissipate after an extended period of environmental exposure, including salt water immersion, as expected for items originating from” the missing plane, the statement said.
“At this stage it is not possible to determine whether the debris is from MH370 or indeed even a Boeing 777.
The liquid like burnt mark is then assessed as the result of a resin (inner filler or glue) darkened with time and exposure.

The number put by Andraxxus doesn’t seem incoherent. Taking the rcs of a comparatively sized aircraft of the same era will put you well above this as was already said. And during those baltic mission, the name of the game was to be seen (and remain out of reach by sheer speed).
B/w the Raf also needs some rather extensive composite curing. In one video where one aircraft suffered a bird strike with a hole the size of a hand, the maintainer is interviewed at the beginning of a night long ablative process…
RCS is a peculiar enemy that eat away your time, that you’d be a full stealth aircraft or a 4++ Gen, the end result is the same: tolerance for OP standards are tight and demands the same attention.
Now that we have a good idea of what wing planform was chosen by GA, it makes more sense to me.
To lessen the complexity of air recovery, GA use extensive body lift and small wings. Being highly loaded during recovery phase improves the behavior of the wing inside the aircraft slipstream. Then, in cruise mode, the fuselage provides the lift needed for an efficient flight at low alpha.
This converges with the re-use of the GA fuselage shape that has been in use since the series Predator (less the antennae front bulge) and a high speed/low alt flight profile.

So they absolutely rule in these yet still in the game in the big ones through multinational projects.For the rest I’would differentiate about the innovation capability of US: in the basic technologies they are unbeatable thanks to the sheer numbers of their own civilian market in such products.
In the final military product they instead tend between two extremes: or they capitalize on such advantage to keep proposing updates of decades old items or at the contrary embark themselves into the production of wunderwaffen than 9 cases over 10 end in nothing and 999 over 1K into massive cost overruns.That’s IMHO also for acquisition processes that are went totally out of control and fell totally into the hands of big firms on a side and the Congress in the other.
So let’s put development/acquisition as an american weakness (together with the multinational euro projects also, not a chauvinistic approach there) and instead as a sthrengt for Russia where their own very peculiar system (design bureau, state trials, first serials, production concern) allow a military and in the end government’s iron grip over the whole phases of it togheter with the possibility of a flexible approach to production and reliability issues (i.e. not putting all eggs in one basket).
Italy has a strong and dynamic industrial base and among the best technicians and engineer (in the sense that they are experienced with the largest area of projects (rotorcraft, tilt-rotor, prop airliner, prop and piston aircraft, UVAV, UAS, trainers, fighter jets, stealth fighter jets, missiles, space rocket, space plane and satellites. Just underlining its aerospace industry.
It is however notable that nobody came with the EU as a block.

However, the fuselage breach could have induce similar effects.
My own idea was the battery runway gases inducing gradual incapacitation with legs last body part affected (I provided a source). It seemed to me that a pilot would attempt a rudder turn (AP has a wing level mode) before passing away.
Notice that some spotted the rear emergency door in some photo but no confirmation came denying de facto this hypo (pic might be on this thread).
In any way, as written at the time, we have to understand that there is a strong possibility that some passengers did survive the initial event and, logically, as horrid as it is to figure, the last ones probably dying in the final crash.
*Germanwings flight did cross an UCAV fly testing zone and DID have its alt set wrongly on the transponder by 200ft
