EgyptAir Flight 804: Cockpit voice recorder found damaged
The “black box” was damaged and had to be pulled out in several stages but its memory unit was intact, they said.
The voice recorder was found by the search vessel “John Lethbridge” β operated by the company Deep Ocean Search β which was commissioned by the Egyptian government to help in the recovery.
Like WOW! I had no idea you knew what those two F-35 pilots were thinking. Not to mention you knew what they were thinking in Dutch! You must be one of those people that have ESPN and can read other peoples thought, huh? Read my mind… But don’t post what I’m thinking cause it’s about a couple of people in here and i don’t want to get in trouble.
Only 2 ppl? Be more imaginative. The internet is way more open regarding those things.
By the way, this is a fan’s forum. This is also what we do here : Interpret & comment.
Another explanation for the long horizontal flight after take-off: The pilot has to go out of burner until the landing gear is retracted and the doors are fully closed, to prevent overspeeding. Then, accelerate with full a/b power and climb once desired speed is reached. Doesn’t sound unreasonable considering the F-35s reported excellent subsonic acceleration and the jet is lightly loaded, most likely no weapons and possibly not a full fuel load.
Alternatively, they could have climbed at a steeper angle right after take-off.
Very much this. I forgot all about the landing gear.
With those humid conditions, the engine might have sucked mass flow like a drunk dragon partying in a summer barn!
You’ve got it right, not me. The first pilot had an eye on his trajectory and speed indicator. The second one was more focused on not breaking anything.
Jaw dropping? Why? If you look closely, the 35 requires a rather long distance after take-off to fly horizontally, collecting speed before it goes into climb..
Just like this oldie MiG-29 (00:43, 05:42) or JF-17 (02:52) in the footage here..Other designs go into the climb directly, even with stores..
As said before, I like the KLu displays a great deal more than what USAF have demonstrated thus far but to describe the F-35 as “jaw dropping” does seem very stretched..
If you look closely, you can see the brownish fume after the 35 pass the crowd, a clear sign that the pilot throttled down after lift-off (for the camera?) before going in full (?)”afterburner to gain some E for the aggressive pull-up.
The 35 is impressive because it has low drag and high lift… Something that the pancake deltanof the Euro can’t match (the combination of this at any t time).
.
Close up of vertical takeoff.
Has to be CGI! I’ve heard from folks in here and “experts” in other forums that this pig can’t turn or climb. I’m calling BS on all these videos.
Jaw dropping… Short TO, low smokes with throttle fully (?j pushed frwd, instantaneous full burner lighting, pitch rate (gasp!) climb and accel on the vertical and… Those contrails…
Not some good days for the 35 hatters.
What most surprising is the difference of pace with their civil program.
This came also lately:
βThe Egyptian Armed Forces Investigation Committee received radar images of the A320 route before its crash, which identified that the aircraft swerved to the left then turned right for a full circle. This comes in accordance with the British and Greek radar images; however [the] investigation cannot count merely on such information,β the Egyptian investigators said.
Everyone now agrees with the latest known trajectory.
Regarding the SAR findings:
The vessel, John Lethbridge,
seems to be the one.
Notice also:
The Egyptian-led investigation committee had already accepted a request by the United States’ National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to have a representative join the investigation team.

It looks so perfect. I am amazed at the signs found on the LE/wingroots that seems identical to those of a Boeing 6th Gen concept.
What are those allegedly?
Notice also the large span and what could be depicted as a Prandt spanwise lift distribution for low drag, high lift and high alt combat simulation training.
An Airbus A321, operated by the now defunct Greece-based Hermes Airlines, overran Runway 36R in Lyon. βThis could have been much more serious as speed was still 75 knots when the Airbus left the runway; it stopped near a sandpit, where it could have fallen,β Jouty said.
The BEA found that the incident was due to multiple causes, including poor crew coordination,
I understand now what are your troubles. You make the confusion b/w mentioning and detailing, “Could” and “had”, might and have Etc.. There is no point to discuss it further as we are here in a loop.
And by the way, doing his “job” would have been, for example, lately, for what I remotely know, calling yet for another press conference to express once again publicly his concerns about Dassault openly denying recently that they had tested their latest drone in the Marseille polygon, over the Mediterranean sea and that this denial should bring concerns with the Germanwings enquiry.
He could say:
“There was some test at that time and now that MD has retracted for what we know did took place, I think we should express some regrets for not having prioritized more time on this. Sadly I monopolized a considerable amount of time on my own “intuition” and led the public early irremediably (it seems) through one of the least probable hypothesis “
But as you may know, I am not a PR consultant.
And lol (regarding myself)… With your twisted way of arguing, I forgot the most striking point I had already raised and that, thanks to those senseless and endless discussion of yours (we are still debating what was written in the news article I posted Last Week (!) without you enriching the conversation), Remy Jouty is still the object of a judicial complaint by the most representative body of professionals (the union of French pilots) of his own country for allegedly LEAKING confidential documents to gov officials, compromising all the process of the enquiry !
Imagine Mr Snowden being the chairman of the CiA… Nothing wrong?
My dear Ba, I regrettably think that, in what concerns deontology, you’ve lost your B a Ba*.
*“B a BA” meaning the Alpha and Omega in Fr
I read the doc (PDF) and they seems pretty distinct to me. The y even mentioned the necessity to not fall in the trap of entering a lengthy debate about who should be the leading partner.
The NextGenerationWeoponSystem appears to be a distinct effort in the doc.
Hmmmm, the German MOD was pretty clear on a “European Solution”, thats written, couple that with this, http://aviationweek.com/defense/industry-ponders-how-keep-tornado-service-until-2040 , and the F-35 starts to look like a “long shot” (unless the Tornado update is not feasable), in the end my bet would be the Luftwaffe to join the RAF and the Adla on whatever cames out of “FCAS”.
I think it’s pretty much what I wrote… π The GMOD is pretty much clear around its interest in FCAS. I was refering to the next weapon system or what ever uber lengthy acronym they use to name the third platform that will complement the FCAS and late Typhoons.
Note:
Rereading myself I noticed that I could have been more specific in mentioning the second airframe as a manned design. Sorry for any indulged confusion.
May be their best option is a 2 seat strike version of Typhoon using CFT’s or just more Typhoons
They are clearly on the line of having a dual type of airframe, staggered in service entry and generation.
The emphasis is also put on refocusing German industry interest on electronics. This could be commune and beneficial with their core business (battlefield).
If I do believe that they will do all they can to keep a high level of airframer base and superior R&D, I can see that with the civil market and FCAS, it won’t let much room for a third project. I think hence it would be only logical for them to fall back on a foreign airframe and yield it to pull their electronics (including software) industry.
Unless some spectacular event, for now, it appears that the 35 could be that platform.
It will makes sense in term of tempo for a decision with now the evidence of an emerging market in Eu for systems upgrade on that platform. The benefits of an economy of scale with the FCAS dev’d systems is readily apparent.
BA, the article I quote does not details this. Again you are portraying me to fit your narrow views on ppl. Be.more specific. Put your argument in a way reader can make more than an opinion based on associative feeling. We are here on an aviation forum. R.J makes exactly what he did with the Germanwings crash. It is then a deliberate pattern. There are rationally no links that can be made b/w an early experience and the present event… Unless you can detail a series of similar incident. Two points does not tell about a tendency no more than 2 points can draw a curve.
And
Of course, it’s no fun to let facts get in the way of a good character assassination…
Frankly, where does this comes from? Calm yourself down, will you.
These practices are nothing short of a freaking blackmail..
I agree with you. The argumentation is good and well put in words until he reaches his conclusion. The SH will stay relevant until Stealth Red fighters will reach a saturation level. Locally they will logically suffer more losses relatively to the 35 (this is why the Navy is not rushing a phasing out since out at sea it will enjoy system dominance).
If Can commits to its planed radar upgrades (and why not join Au in the Over the Horizon program?), the SH will remains relevant for quite a long time. It won’t be decades IMOHO but a decade or 1.5, certainly.
But for sure the present situation with politicians involved so much in such a technical decision is ridiculous. Replace Fighter Jet by “trowel” and the ridicule of their assertions will jump to your eyes. Imagine your local mayor taping the shoulder of your contractor to explain him how to pour concrete to build a straight wall… But perhaps that’s what happens everyday in Canada!
Maybe you could try reading the article you linked instead of making clueless comments?
This is what Mr J. Added on purpose at the MS804 conference’
The BEA found that the incident was due to multiple causes, including poor crew coordination, ATC instructions, non-compliance with a standard operating procedure, as well as an autothrottle malfunction and dual input during landing. βWhat was unique was the operator’s choice to comply with the regulation by hiring pilots with as little experience as possible,β Jouty added
The MS804 pilot is reported to have 6000hr. We can also suppose that he has also an early awareness of the specificities of flying through a family culture (see my post above regarding his uncle and close family. Members being pilots). Obviously we could have here a case of cronyism with this pilot being unfit to fly. But there are far less clues than in Af447.
So, what was the point raising suspicion in front of the press, something he already did regarding Germanwings crash.and what is your point here with my allegedly clueless assertion and.my inability to read a news report that I took the time and effort to share for everyone.
Tell me BA. And for God sake, be specific for once.
This is what was said.from me:
I understand and share your opinion. Raw flight hours number doesn’t translate in any indication regarding pilot’s proficiency. I am in the opinion that pilot should be categorized and “rated” upon their “category”. Just like Mil pilots.
So, to be back on MS804, we can “agree” that Mr Jouty is only making some diversion unless we should categorize him as the worst professional ever leading the BEA. That led me to the original question:
What was the cargo and why haven’t we seen yet the airplane manifest?
