In anyway this has absolutely no relevance at all with the topic of this thread. Aircraft have to be delivered by 2025 (already made the remark on multiple occasions). The possible Rafale standard for the Swiss RFQ is an F3R with what will be available in production from the F4 design study = F3R++
It will remain to Dassault to first win the competition and then eventually reach an agreement with their then customer to push forward the future options… A possibility, once again, that isn’t apparent in anyway in the Swiss document.

[USER=”959″]Deino[/USER] : On the front facia of the pod, I see a circular inlet* with thick lip (converge with the fact that there is no glass – anti-icing system). Inside that inlet there is a rectangular item with a certain thickness where 3 rounded protubering dome-like spots are placed apart.
This for the physical description. Both pictures doesn’t seems to show the exact same unit (internal items are slightly different).
*more a free stream opening since it does not seems that there is any outlet.
The Rafale’s wing is quite rugged and robust (basically an M2K structure fitted with an integral composite skin). I won’t be surprised to see them dodge any aeroelasticity gremlins without a single notch.

Last time I read something about their respective cost, AMRAAM was about 1M$ and Meteor 2.5/3M$
I doubt that you’ll have more than 4 meteors carried anywhere operationally. Given that the AMRAAM is a way more effective medium to short range missile, Meteors would be carried only where the delta margin in range makes sense (AMRAAM comes also cheaper).
I would even bet that Typhoon will carry only 2 in most case.
