Don’t be sarcastic. Broken legs runner deserve respect.

But one question remain: how much cost a single Typhoon simulator?

True, but some of these problems have been under study for decades. This sort of basic research and test work rarely hits the headlines, and in some cases is/was classified.

There is also the plausible assumption that US/LM are telling Suk/Russia that they exactly know what they try to achieve with the T50 and/or hve been there alrdy and hve exceeded what they cld plan to achieve.

Don’t know about the truck but this thing is an absolute non-sense regarding aerodynamics. Seems they were asked to pack all the stuff as if keeping adding ingredients could make sound cooking.

Watching this, I guess that the INS module use an atomic clock, a sand timer and a Swiss watch to makes for time counting

You’re assuming that the aircraft purchase will be capped at 36 units and therefore operate out of one airbase (maybe two), in which case there would have been some merit to opting for platform with a longer range. The low costs associated with the Gripen however, give the Brazilians the luxury of significantly expanding the fleet, enabling a much wider distribution of assets.

A brief look at the FAB’s current fleet shows they need replacements (rather than supplements) and the need them in strength.

Well, you are assuming that a “canarded” plane is an efficient one, what i cld not agree. the most (frwd) is the worst IMOHO.

Regarding the fact that you can expend the fleet (in crisis time)… well it looks like as an average french man’s sweet dream. Are you from Br or Sw really?

Well, speaking about consumption, the M88 derived propfan is unbeatable. Imagine a F1 with a supersonic pusher props. Even the most fanatics Maranello’s inhabitants will wish to drive a French car (what wld need any pope to declare it as a miracle! (but even Francis is under-built for this) )

VNomad, a small airframe is a less adaptable one. This is why Saab stretched the C/D into the E/F. Think abt Br territory. Imagine that you hve to deal with a Peru crisis that fiel alrdy Long range russian fighters (this is only a wild assumption – don’t take it as it is!). What will you do with your close border stationed Grips and 707? Rename them Condors? Or do you think that a fighter hve to be an happy meal for the opposing forces?

I really like the Grip (brillant tailored and affordable!!!!!!!). But Grip is short legged. What ever the Bae hysterics are putting frwd.

    X-15 was a pure rocket… X-43 and X-51 were/are air-breathing scramjets.

If you can’t tell (or don’t know) the difference, then you need to do some research before you make meaningless statements like that.

I doubt the Jaguar landing gear was derived from Dassault, & it’s experience with Mirage F.1. Dassault didn’t design the landing gear, & Jaguar was designed by BAC & Breguet, with AFAIK no input from Dassault. Both Mirage F.1 & Jaguar were flying years before Breguet merged with Dassault.

But – both Mirage F.1 & Jaguar have landing gear designed in France by Messier, now Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, a subsidiary of Safran. I expect the people at Messier knew a good thing when they’d designed it, & didn’t want to waste effort re-inventing, & so offered Breguet something similar to what they’d just designed for Dassault.

I think the design was created for a STOL design by Breguet with a fold-able nose section fielding that characteristic landing gear geo. Although I Can’t remember the name for now. Sry not much help.

Looking at the layout of the TBCCE, I got a question to all of you: Why this relatively big distance between the Turbine and the Ramjet?

Would be delighted to see the source of that image. Thx in advance!

But first thing that come in mind is the lack of the Rocket accelerator and the 3D layout of the engines arrangement.

Last but not least, it’s a SCramjet

The KF-X is pretty much dead and they’re now talking about a smaller and simpler design using just a single engine. (i.e. KFX-E) Which, doesn’t look very promising in my opinion. Especially, considering it has Weapons Bays.

No. The first level of “Promising” is being Doable.

That’s wht the new KFX does: tailored, affordable and smart.

With a lot of assets being able to carry such an heavy loads that unleashing them will only breaks havoc on their enmy, the only thing that SthKAF still hve some needs is Air Superiority + SEAD missions on a regional scale…

…Added bonus, this fit a lot of user’s expectations.

Moreover, modified and tuned for a specific mission, it can potentially reach other platform performances such as a Mirage 2000 does today in its varied forms.

They seem to have overcome them enough to jointly manufacture a military transport jet. And both have led efforts to build a common regional defence policy. Hardly a leap to assume they’d be open to operating the same type of fighter aircraft.

Yes. You are right. I did stretch the idea too far. Thx for correcting me.

Nobody get the feeling that pushing frwrd old retrograde Colonial thinking in a sale for Brazil is an awkward thing to say the least? Frankly, if you want to sell top super pricy tech to a country like Br forget abt that kind of restrictions.

Oh and by the way, Br and Ar peoples hve their own history too regarding each others. Mixing them in the same deal is just a dream of westerner strategists, nothing more.

Regarding Sweden, I am not sure that deving the E/F fits any of their own national interest. It might be time for some to get back with realities. The future won’t lie in ground mower or subsonic/low supersonic cruise platform. Get that money back where it is needed!
