Oh by the way….
the Rearwin had “wet wings” when I saw her Sunday – this also from Bridget ?
Martin
Mike J, Bridget and Papa Lima were about six feet away from it most of the morning as the Jones boy could not bear to drag himself away from the MFA Triplane or Morane. Most of the mud was not from the rain but from how Bridget was dribbling.
And Hector is a goose.
At 8.00 h in the morning ? Yeah right – didn’t hear any English talking so either they were speechless or still in the sack (after drowning in Calvados on Saturday).
And my sincerest apologies to Hector – now I know why he looked so menacing.

So where were you when we were slagging you off then?
Melv
Friday: Les Ailes Anciennes at Le Bourget – seeing some most interesting stuff like a Lancaster Restoration…..
Saturday: Bad weather asked for a change of plans so it was MusΓ©e de l’Air & de l’Espace at Le Bourget and again Les Ailes Anciennes afterwards.
Sunday: Whole day at La FertΓ© – sunburned but happy.
Forgot to take my notes (mobile phone numbers, etc.) on Sunday – good for those that were slagging me off then…. (sorry Melvyn, Mike J, AiB, Papa Lima, etc…..)

I spotted the rearwin’s tail in the LFA hangar on saturday.
I saw this strange red thing departing after the flamand display on sunday. Sadly, the speaker didn’t announce it’s departure. So I wasn’t prepared to take a picture. But still, here is the departing Melv.

Stieglitz
Same happened to me…. saw her (and some guy at the controls) take off on Sunday before lunchbreak and she looked beautiful – so I decided to enjoy the sight of this Vermillion plane instead of trying to snap a photo.
@ Melvyn – she looked beautiful in the static area Sunday morning ! But you were nowhere near her so I talked to the rubber duck instead.
Cheers π

Hi
just back from Paris and a bit knackered after a 7-hours journey….
The wannabe MS 406 (it’s a D-3801) is now based at Bex in Switzerland – they (the new owner’s name eludes me at present) painted the aircraft in French markings (Lafayette Squadron) in honor of the French pilots that fought bravely against the Luftwaffe and other odds 65 years ago.
Martin
lovely !
thanks for sharing !
