First question, why was a German flag visible on the tail fin of G-ATUM?
See my earlier comment – it was operated by “Bavaria Flug” – a German airline.

Mike – you are referring to this one ?

Seem to remember that there was a post earlier this week regarding the derelicts at Sandtoft, and their possible sale. Does anyone have a clue if the 25 has got a new home?
Also, Hanover Street B-25 “Toujour au Danger/Marvellous Miriam” (N9115Z) did fly around 1979-80 at Biggin Hill mowing the lawn. There was a poor photo of the 25 in Air Classics with faded paint and the red/white cowls. Are there any intrepid photographers who remember shooting this plane at the show?

hi
anyone can shed light into this one – it is supposedly an aircraft tested by the USAAF, possibly for recon-cameras…..

I am very impressed at how accurately you have identified this a/c. What were your clues?

easy: triangle markings on tail = 1st Air Division
K in triangle = 379th BG
look up 379th BG codes and the only one possible is LF for the 526th BS
WA = 524th BS
FR = 525th BS
LF = 526th BS
FO = 527th BS
