That’s an EN-serial…. looks like EN896 – but I don’t have books here to check individual serials…..

I was surprised that nobody picked up on this little beauty in RAF markings.
Perhaps you all know what it is?
Mark
Connie…

It is a standard Mark II Reflector Gunsight – no doubt about that.
Martin
Will it fly at Legends ? 😀 😀 😀
Apparently so…
you asked for it….
Isn’t he still in Canadialand?
Pehaps you should start circulating the ‘have you seen JDK’ milk cartons again Steve.
He is still up there – in the Beaufighter thread he mentioned -15° C under ‘location’- so he probably is frozen now….
Martin
Perhaps worthy of a caption competition?
Mark
“There – that’s what you get for showing me that red light on short final – silly machine !”

well
this was the FW-44J model – the export/license version of the FW-44D – the “High Back” mod seems to be a later addition / conversion, though….

I will take out the Swiss AF FW-44 photos I have (an interned Luftwaffe kite, that was put into Swiss AF service and later was a glider-tug).

Hi
as for the Swiss Bückers:
A stands for “Ausbildung” = Training, i.e. Basic Training, Advanced Training, Aerobatics
U stands for “Umschulung” = Conversion Training, but also used for Advanced Training and Aerobatics
you may have noted the “RV” letters on the Bücker’s tails……
this stands for “Rückenvrille” = Inverted Spin; aircraft equipped with special carebuttors to the engines that allowed inverted manouvers were marked with the “RV”, i.e. these aircraft were cleared for this form of aerobatics.
and Stieglitz
here’s a Swedish beauty for you:

Can I get back to you all on this in due course. I’ll start at East Fortune on Monday 10th (see my other post about me being the new Assistant Curator) and find out exactly what’s happening. I understand that work on RD220 may be about to start. Certainly, if I have anything to do with it, it will!
Thank you ! very much appreciated !
