39 as a Sqn will stand-down on 29 July with a full parade and the Sqn standard will be laid-up at St Clement Danes in London on 30 July.
When the PR9 goes the current reece systems that it employ’s will be lost permanently to the RAF as there is no planned replacement.
As for the disposal of the three remaining aircraft, well, rumours are rife. Truth be told we’ll have to wait and see. 😀
As for official display’s one aircraft will fly at Waddington as for anywhere else I don’t know.
Yes, some great times over the last 12 years for Canberra preservation in the UK coupled with some outstanding personalities involved as well. All documented in a book soon to be released.
Hmmm.
If I remember, we’ve sold the fwd nose section to Air Platforms in the States.
They have had B6’s XH567 and WT327 operational over there for some years now on special project work. Try a Google for Air Platforms
If Chris (109ster) see’s this later he may be able to add more, fill in blanks etc.
Here’s the man himself yesterday.
Friday test included some minor ‘low end’ engine accells. We’ll be starting the full program of testing in the new year. And yes we’ll be flying next year!! 😀 😀
Realy Tom?
T4’s fitted with the Avon 1 so only single breach start. The B6 had – has! Avon 109’s and have triple breach starting (TBS720) with No 10 carts. Just think in the next year or so we’ll be the only flyer’s of the type in Europe

Hi Guy’s
The reason for the blue ‘cast’ on the shots is because they were shot from the back seat, which as you Jon have green tint rear windows. Still, I was surprised that they came out at all as it was my first attempt as well!
My equipment was trusty Minolta Dynax 7000i fitted with a standard 28-70 Zeiss lens. Loaded with Fuji Provia 100F. Will, as for yours, well there just as good.
As for the Venom, I have a new scheme drawn up for it. After all, would’nt it be nice to get rid of the rubbish ‘kiddy’ decals that Gower applied to it. Before any shoot was done?
Dave (taking cover!)
Good morning Will,
The Hunter was at one time part of the Servicing Instructional Flt (SIF) at Cranwell. SIF markings being an owl in a mortar-board. If memory serve’s, XV322/9096M was the one that came to CVT. SIF also had T7’s XF967 and XF995 amongst others.
The Venom is an ex Swiss FB50. 60 Sqn operated an aerobatic team made up of 6 Venom FB4’s in 1957/58 when the unit was based at Tengah. Serials were. WR537/A, WT564/B, WR407/C, WR533/L, WR496/N and WR421/P.
Aircraft were gloss white overall with red tip tanks with white lightning flash, rudders also red as were the serials on the booms.

C130 buzzing the RAE Bedford on its day of closure.
Hi Tom, Will, Alan.
More than likley Bob Thompson calling in. I remember Glen C saying something about him getting some stick time on WM167 at some stage in the future.
Tom can you PM me?
Cheers all Dave
Here we go again. Some one not happy with the colour scheme? Again! But hang on, this happened before with the new Hunter T7 scheme. Did it not?
Oh and just by the way, light aircraft grey was introduced with some TC Daks at the latter end of the types career.
Lack of man power which is a problem? I think not. The team of engineers that work on the a/c are still in place. We will be ready to re-start work soon. One of our number now works on the Classic Flight full time.
However, its not all doom and gloom we will be flying again soon.
