Don’t tell me MOD plc put its hand in its pocket! Cos that’s the only way Mr civie defence agency thingy would let them have any thing off them.
Who’s handling the sale of said a/c?
Have a look at Roy Bonser’s book, Aviation in Leicestershire and Rutland. Published by Midland Counties Publications. All the gen you need is in there.
There is a good chance that this is a Rhodesia AF B2, RRAF 165 which was WH871 when with the RAF. The Rhodesia order was filled directly from RAF stocks.
With regard to the Sea Vixen, the bag everyone saw was the aircraft’s tool roll! Later on during the display the rest of the contents fell out as the a/c was flying away from the crowd(anyone see the streamers? That was rolls of kim wipe)!
Then just after that the top pannel of the stowage bin failed. I’ve seen the damage to both the pannel and a/c. It won’t be flying today. We’re going to affect ‘get you home’ repairs later on today.
Ah yes, the mighty Anteius!
I’d love to see one of these come into Coventry, but I think there would be a problem with the airport only having 6,000ft of slab to play with!!
Still, nice photo Roger.
Yes, mainly cargo, some pax otherwise general aviation. Flying clubs etc.
Sorry, didn’t see the Learjet. The other Electra’s outside 7 shed are G-LOFD (no engines or tail control surfaces, N9744C and an ex
Fred Olsen example(no reg). You may have seen G-FIJR making some noise out on the compass base round about 13.00 yesterday.
Atlantic only got 2 Reeve L188’s, N1968R was sold to Air Spray in Canada last year. The ATR-42 has been added to the Atlantic Express fleet as the company is expanding its passenger work.
I was there on site too yesterday.
Some more info for you.
The Brasilia EMB 120 is operated by Atlantic Express. They have two aircraft on lease D-CAOA and D-CAOB.
The L188 is N2RK ex N187RV and I belive is being used by the company at the moment, hence the ‘Reeve Illusion’ titles.
Reeve did have three L188’s on the books when they went under.
N187RV, N1968R and N9744C.
The ATR-42 next the L188 is G-IONA. Which has been transfered from Highland Airways to Atlantic Express.
Hope this is of use.
With a scheme like that it should be flying around pylons at Reno!!

I hear that one can park up outside the airfield at the end of the runway.
Not this time mate, West Mids Police will have the side road closed as its under part of the display line.
Yes it is Farnborough.
I was in Lutterworth this morning (10 mins from home) to photograph the E28/39 with the weather being so good.
There was movement at EMA yesterday when a Britannia 757-200 arrived from Cyprus with 18 Gulf personnel aboard. It was interesting to note that the a/c had no company titles or reg visible!
RE: Bruntingthorpe Canberra Inquiries
