So how about the Phantom? That’s another rugged but unattractive airframe. And the Jaguar.

i beg to differ, i think the phantom is a beautiful aircraft, and the t.2 jags are beautiful too!

i had someone tell me that the TSR.2 was ugly… god help him had he been a foot closer :diablo:

Its all very well everyone saying “i told you so” now, but realistically, what good does it do? does it paint us all in rather a poor light? perhaps it does.

my uncle who pretty much runs the italian part of Rolls Royce engines told me when i first heard about the project, that she would NEVER fly, and he was adamant about this, even in the months leading up to her first flight, he was still POSITIVE that she wouldnt fly, and was astonished when i sent him the link of the video showing her first flight more than a year ago now.

it seems to me that predictions made long before she ever flew have been confirmed,

Yes, she’s had a massive amount of money poured into her, and yet still needs more

Yes, it may have damaged the historic aviation comunity (as has been mentioned above)

Yes, there have beein failings in management

but for all of this, all the continuous plea’s for more money etc. for all of it, im glad that she flew, and im glad the money was spent. if it wasnt for the generosity of the public i would have never been able to see a vulcan fly in the flesh, videos are one thing but the sight and smell in the flesh is just something else.

    anyway, thats my ten pence

hi paul i hadn’t noticed that,

but having had a look at the rest of his items, i get the feel that it probably isnt for sale at the moment, and when it will be it wont be anything near my price range. i was considering ringing various places like bournemouth hurn (as this one seems to be on the dump?) possibly manston and preddenack (not sure who i would get in touch with about the preddenack one)
