i know its not historic… yet 😉
harrier Gr7/9 over alcester 17:28hrs heading towards baignton
disgusting, what is this country coming to? 😡
what was the WON thread?
hell of a story, i was just reading the article in this months flypast about the buccaneer, which illustrated how blackburn made them so strong, after investing considerable time and money in developing tooling, so that ribs and other mainstructural parts, could be honed from single blocks of alloy.
great story, thanks for sharing 🙂
Australian redesigned if you bother to read the link
actually i did bother,
“Wing internal fit is not complete but enough progress has been made for us to contemplate fitting the outer wings in the next twelve months. The restoration of the outer wings is proving to be very interesting. One wing is British built, the other Australian. The Australians made many changes to the British design in the following areas. Aileron shrouds in metal instead of wood and metal, gun bay doors in metal in place of wood, pressed nose ribs in place of the fabricated British type, different layout to the landing lamp area.”
so mainly changing wooden parts for metal, and redesigning other little aspects makes it entirely austrailian? i really cant see the point in this argument, i dont care where it goes really as long as it flies!
british designed…? 😉
i think the problem is (that has been mentioned here before) one of the owners/ the owner is not allowed to fly single seat twins in this country (the reason the tigercat went to the us?)
i do hope it stays, a truly unique aircraft that should stay where she belongs. 🙂
i would if i had any money!!! im just 20 and owe nearly £9k already (yaay for uni)
The Blenheim, simply because it has engines!
tough to say, beaufighter looks to be closer to flight, but then again the teeny weeny problem of the lack of serviceable engines!
im not going to guess to be honest, it will be a close call, depends on who has more money! 😉
excellent post kev, very moving…
possibly a type of nord? i dont know but im thinking french 🙂
hey bex,
glad to see ur back and that all is well 🙂
to be quite honest, i think that it will be a good bit overpowered on engines that big, a couple of Zenoah G38s should do the job maybe a pair of G45’s for added comfort (still like £200 per engine minimum though!) zenoahs would definitely be cheaper than a saito radial 325 which are £700 per engine 😮
ive emailed her a couple of times recently and got nothing back. used to send loads of emails, has her fototopic thread on 773 been updated recently? bex if you are out there, come home!
addz0009, What engines are you planning to use?
i would have thought the ideal choice would be the saito 325 5 cyl 53cc, more than enough power for a model of 144″ considering the ziroli DC3 (a model of a similar span) is supposed to use a pair of zeonah G38 single cylinder engines : )
