having just woken up properly, im ashamed in not realising the nachang one is basically a direct copy, the yaks usually have squared off tips to their props dont they?
after having registered and censoring the photograph,

looks a lot like a yak52 to me
(mods if the photo isnt ok tell me and ill remove it)
No! :p
*runs off to ask his daddy for money* :p 😀
that spit is my absolute favorite mark, 5 blade prob big rudder and without clipped wings, she looks amazing!!! *drools* anyone have £2million lying around they fancy giving me? lol
It’s been discussed several times and alas there is nothing to show for it. I think it’s a great idea.
seconded, you never know what people have lying around that you might need 😀
whilst i understand entirely your point, i do think that some people’s reactions to the idea of helping out where help looks to be needed, may put people completely off becoming a part of historic aviation and the preservation of aircraft. dont get me wrong, i understand that it is entirely the owners perogative what they decide to do or not do with their own aircraft. i do think that sometimes the reactions are a little extreme, and often upset people with nothing but good intent in mind.
im still confused why it is, that every time people suggest to go and do things for free. certain people seem to think its a bad idea, and then proceed to put down the person who put forward the idea for doing so?! are people afraid of genuine gestures of kindness?
such a shame this poor museum is struggling , and i am having a go at no one
it must be really hard to keep these aircraft up together after so many years in the open, especailly with flagging volounteer help, and low funds,I am quite gutted for all the aircraft , although Meatbox F8 and Prentice seem to be surviving well,
but that poor old meatbox night fighter , and sea hawk, wessex etc:( , they need some help fast, (anythig post war jet and i am in love !)
wonder if lasham would mind a Forum gang going down to kive them a clean up , rather than let them decay any more, just to clean up any green mould
and any rust spots to be cured, and a little oiling of parts to keep the rust at bay ,
what say you members ???
we all Talk about it, but would it hurt for a day to help them clean up some of there aircraft Mob handed ???:D
im game, give me a when and a where and ill be there, that is if the owners will allow it. considering that the owners of marston (near me) wanted nothing to do with my ideas of cleaning!
’nuff said!
these aircraft dont look to be in much better condition that the examples at long marston 🙁 are they maintained or just left there?
also says you need to share the photos with each of us? photobucket would be better for photo uploading, as you can directly link your photos to anyone and in your posts on here. 🙂
are there any known to be in a lake or the sea anywhere?
ritch and max, PM sent.
Cheers
Ben
Hi Guys
Yep, this beast is now at Bruntingthorpe, sitting in our yard at the moment. She will be reasembled in the next few weeks and make her public static debut at the May 25th “Big Thunder” open day. I was with the new owner today, and he will be looking to build a team to work on her, with the eventual aim of her joining our fast taxi fleet. The cockpit is totaly intact and she is in generaly very good condition.
So if you want to see her in the flesh, pop along on May 25th.
if he’s looking for a team, starting in september ill be at coventry university studying aerospace engineering, and would gladly pop across at weekends to help out 🙂
Would be an awesome project to get one of these back in the air!
😀 😀 😀 my thoughts entirely 😉 it certainly looks like a lot of work just for a static rebuild 🙂
The dates refer to the ‘last noted date’ which means the last time we had a report of their continued existance at this location.
The photo’s are a bit older, XL578’s was taken after a Kemble open day in in 2006 (by me). The one of XX466 provided by an enthusiast at Guernsey, taken a couple of years ago IIRC.
HTH
sorry 😮 i missed that, but presumably that it means they are still in situ? or somewhere closeby?
