i would love to see a P47 in this country (i know there is one on the way) also a mosquito and maybe one of the early british jets, another seahawk? an attacker/swift/scimitar?
I do hope you’re ready for the backlash from this sort of ill-informed comment!
have they outlawed the stocks and hanging? :diablo:
Someone once said that everything that flies is beautiful.
However surely that was before Hermann Blohm was bored one afternoon and asked Ernst Voss if he’d ever considered designing flying machines.
that is one of the best quotes ive ever heard 😀
definitely a petition to sign, done and done 🙂
she looks fantastic, well done to all those involved 🙂
How to turn a thoroughbred into a donkey?
:diablo:
WTF! lol thats a 109 right?
…Surprised nobody’s come up with Bristol Brabazon and the Saro Princess, either
I doubt you’ll get either of those in the room! :p 😀 😀 😀
BAC TSR-2.
I’m pretty sick of listening to what is “would” have done, how many records it “could” have broken and its general percieved brilliance.
Best TSR-2 quote on WIKi:
“The aircraft’s nosegear vibrated at the resonance frequency of the eyeball, causing the pilot and navigator to suffer double vision during taxiing. The problem was dealt with by adding damping into the already extremely complex landing gear.”I prefer aircraft that have actual proved performance, not calculated maybe performance.
well if it wasnt for politicians, we would know what she would have been capable of wouldnt we!
Nothing like a bit of back tracking!!!! Please tell us all… whats the difference between “wouldnt want to be seen dead flying one” and wouldn’t fly in one?
Good luck with OASC… I’d love to be a fly on the wall at that interview…
“Well sir, to be honest with you, I wouldn’t be seen dead flying one of those”…
6ugger, well of course i wouldnt tell them that :p
A compromise, stopgap aircraft that, from what I hear, hasn’t ever really been up to the job which it thankfully has never had to demonstrate.
A Fairey Fulmar for the late 20th century
Moggy
cheers 🙂 always nice to know what could end up flying after university though, that is if i get into the raf lol
Yes a grob from one of the southern UAS’s lost a blade and force landed a few years ago. Both crew stayed with a/c AFAIK.
there is always some truth in the rumour mill eh 😀 in fact now i think about it im pretty sure I was told by a JT from Raf Benson lol
ive heard stories from AEF flight where less experienced pilots have forgotten to shut the canopy etc but overall its not to bad, i just had the unfortunate experience of having an ex-lightning pilot who was used to go at mach 1 and pulling tight turns
Great fun tho 🙂

*jealousy* 😀
So are you saying that if you were offered a ride in a Typhoon…you would not go ???? what sort of anorak are you ?? I would fly in (almost) any military jet !!(smileys dont work on this pc by the way)
cheers baz
aha just because i dont like it, doesnt mean i wouldnt fly in it :p, also
who said i was an “anorak” ive never bought or owned one in my life :p though i believe my mother put me in a paddington style duffel coat when i was about 5, im just an aircraft fanatic 😀
the grob is a great little aircraft!!! you obviously dont like flying that much 😛 though through the cadet grapvine when i was doing my gliding scholarship on the Vigilant i heard that one of them threw a prop blade sometime 2004-2005 according to a friend from a different Atc squadron it either lost its canopy or she was told to bail out (the cadet in the aircraft) can anyone substantiate this?
Possibly a twin pioneer?
Was thinking something from the Percival stable but u/c looks too far apart.
Jon
a twin pin would make sense looking at the UC, two wheels on each leg with a wide very wide track, interesting to see how the pilot managed to park her up in that position, perfecting the groud version of recovery from unusual attitudes? 😀
Well its got to be the little bulldog trainer, bloody cessna of the RAF,
crappy little engine, if i wanted to see one of them i would got to a civvy airport, with my Notebook, taking down numbers , and bottleneck glasses, and the spit, as lovely as she is, there getting as common as a airbus, every
rich mans got one, or a mustang, bloody boring ,wouyld be nice to see something a bit different for a change, :diablo: :diablo:
Now ive upset a hornets nest i will sit back and “Reel em in “”
“gonna need a bigger boat” JAws” 😀 😀 :diablo: :dev2:
definitely right about there being a lot of spits about, though apart from a hurri, where would you go next? in terms or rich men, there arent many british ww2 types that you could go for with a smiliar budget, i mean there are few lancs still about to rebuild to flying status, same goes for the mossie (this just being for rich buisnessmen, i know about the one in NZ) still i was wondering what was wrong with the Tonka F3, moggy?
that sounds ridiculous, though i have no idea about the pricing of ww2 cockpits, is it ridiculous?
Eurofighter “Typhoon” – I think its ugly, and how long have they been in development, they’ve ONLY just gone into service, and still i read problems to do with fuel systems and other misc systems. give me a Tornado anyday. Just to outline, its nothing but a personal opinion i dont intend it to be offensive in anyway and i hope that no one takes it as such
