Sorry I meant any Shackleton. I was under the immpression BAe will not support the type at all.
ive also been told that this was the issue with a mosquito flying in this country, isnt PA474 supported by british aerospace?
why is it at manchester?

actually im sure that most people will realise that, you can help explain what some people do and better inform us about UE (its been said that you are a member of the 28 days later forum no?) i for one would value any imput you had on this subject, being obviously someone who knows a different side to the principle of UE than we all do

good question here, just did a quick search round, ie demobbed google and airliners.net and the only thing i found was a picture from the late 50’s what did happen to her?
a sad, prolonged and completely undignified end to an aircraft that deserved a much better fate
judging by its condition in 1998, i wouldnt have thought that there would be much left of a wooden construction having spent 10 years more out in the open, and are people sure that the two pictures given are of the smae pannier, the tree’s are different, the skin damage to the port side is different, there is some wierd green thing by the one in the second photo, and as someone has already pointed out, one has, what seems to be an access panel or some sort of hatch on the fore of the port side, where the other one does not???
usually rigged to one channel, though most aircraft of that size have simple onboard computers. also generally the transmitters used on such models are 10+ channels
The instigator of this thread did not specify whether this ownership is with the intention of flying or just owning but, for me, my brief list would be to fly:
Lightning F1A – still unbeatable for sheer straight line/up performance
Gnat – the ultimate airborne go kart!
Hunter 6/9 – a true thoroughbred.Having flown all 3 I cannot put them in any order – I want all three!
lucky s0d *ENVY* 😀 😎
not sure that this is what we usually see on these UE forums, i cant see it being hard to walk over to these aircraft and take some pictures? could be an open day or something like that, cockpit on the twin tub hunter being open suggests that there was somethign going on that day.
so there is a pretty much unique aircraft, lying in a river somewhere in america??? what a crazy world :S
😮 my bad….*look of shame*
thanks for posting CG makes for a very interesting read. dont know about the rest of you, but i intend to be at at least three of 558’s displays this season 🙂 … anyone care to raise me?
you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! jesus, how can that not be worth saving, surely the remains of them both could be made into one aircraft??? as technically there is only ONE left these two should definitely be saved!!!
it seems that quite a few of you share a fondness for the XB-70, either that or everyone has just thieved my initial idea 😀 also would like to add “Black 6” at the top of my list (if the rules allow :D)
haha easy one
1) XR220 AND XR222 (both surving TSR.2’s for those who dont know) both restored to airworthy standards and flown (shouldnt be a problem as both have zero hour airframes)
2) an original sopwith camel
3) XB-70
4) ALL of the rare and unique WW2 german aircraft at the NASM and other places in the US
all of the above to be restored to airworthy standards, and be allowed to fly them! haha i think the only person who could do that is bill gates but im willing to send a lot of begging letters :diablo:
