i seem to remember that the massive flooding they had down south caused damage at the airport, and came right up to the hangar doors. aren’t they still rebuilding new orleans?

Spitfire (dont know mark) currently doing loopsies over alcester (west of stratford upon avon) he’s getting rather low, under 500 feet, isn’t that against CAA regulations? aerobatics over a built up area and below 500 feet in a built up area

That said, I never heard how Black 6 fared against the XI that it was flown with. (?) Allison knows? Perhaps it was never flown close to its limits?

I seem to remember having heard that the higher ups at the MoD used her as a runaround, one time one of them turned up to fly her in a pinstripe suit 😮

Nashio – the days of airworthy Whirlwind HAR.10’s are decidedly numbered !

The last one XJ-729 (aka G-BVGE) is still flying and well maintained, and may hopefully be back in the uk again sometime in the future 😉

*Pondskater*…….But to me airworthy aircraft smell right…

Definitely agree with you on that one, i went to hendon not so long ago for the first time, and dont get me wrong they are lovely aircraft, but the place is dead, its like a mausoleum, every other museum ive been to no matter what state the aircraft are in, they feel alive especially places like duxford etc

    again rather predictably…

BAc TSR.2 (one day i will, wait and see:cool: )
    Bristol Type 188
    Lancaster
    Avro Vulcan B.2
    English Electric Lightning

that would put a big grin on my face for sure

i think you’re right, but you got the aircraft the wrong way round, thats the front turret, ther nose glazing gives it away 🙂
