on that UE sight forgive me if im wrong but that looks like a doorpost by the “Cabin roof” 😡 you can see the glass at one end of it and the door latch nearer the other. please correct me if im wrong, but that is criminal damage if that is the doorpost? ive never seen that helicopter before and most people have said that all the buildings are locked! HMMMMM! idiots 😡

it depends if you are talking about size, i.e wingspan and length or payload/weight. the Latecoere 631 was longer by about 10 meters but had a three meter shorter wingspan. the mars was roughly 2000kg heavier unloaded but could take 2000kg more when it came to a maximum takeoff weight. The martin mars was also a meter higher that the 631 though i put this down to the mars having a single rudder where the 631 had a twin fin arrangement. even though the 631 was longer, i would say the mars was the bigger overall of the two. hope this answers your question 🙂

pretty sure that’s the case, i spoke to chris last night, and thats what he told me, he’s the main man for rolls royce engines in italy, so pretty high up. i too find it hard to believe that they would dump expensive alloys such as nimonic! who knows 🙂

no these RB’s weren’t attached to anything apparently RR have a contract to resupply the MoD with new engines or something, so instead of servicing their older stock, they just get dumped, and they flew the lightnings into it? sounds a bit crazed!!!

i had heard about these “sea dumps” dont they just dump serviceable aircraft off a barge or something? a relative of mine works for rolls royce engines and he was telling me about dumping of perfectly serviceable RB199’s into the sea??? surely this is madness?

a good free one to reduce the size of photos, is “shrink pic” google it. it reduces the size of photos automatically as it runs as a system process, you jsut get a little popup notification that it has just resized a picture 😀

just posted a picture with this post, i think you will find it pretty much self explanatory. the firs picture is the standard “reply” screen and the second is a maximised view of the “attach file” screen

    sequence goes as follows

paperclip icon -> browse -> search computer for the file(s) that you want then click upload

    hope this helps 🙂
