    T-6G Wheels

The manuals I have give the same style of braked for the G as for our earlier D. I’m not aware of T-6’s coming off a production line with Mustang style disk brakes, but it may have been a later modification by some users.

    Periodicals

Not on all the aeroplanes asked about. Some are low key and likely to remain so. In an age where it’s all too easy to post a question or comment on a public forum one should not lose sight of the fact that you are actually requesting information on and discussing in public another individual’s private business.

Just because we may have a passing interest in a subject does not give us an automatic right to expect answers to queries relating to what is in fact another person’s private property.

Just my 2 pence worth, but then perhaps I’m just old fashioned. Must be my age……:(

    Projects

Well, these projects are the private business of those who own them, so it’s hardly unreasonable for them to keep a low profile if they so wish.

Looks like an exec A-26 conversion, albeit one of the more ugly versions.

We’re still after an airframe. One of the ex. imperial aviation group aeroplanes was quoted as available for circa £15K, a large sum for a project airframe.

One will turn up, it doesn’t have to be in great shape.

    Rear Fuselage

The rear fuselage was last seen at the now defunct Ludham museum run by Tony White. I’m not sure what happened to it after the closure of the museum and his conviction.

    Napier’s engine test bed

I believe this was Napier’s test and development unit at either Acton or Liverpool somewhere. The exhaust gases were vented to the outside via the odd pipework.

    Long since destroyed sadly.

Anson T.21 prototype with a private owner near Cambridge.

    Harvard

Ex Dutch Air Force, then to a scrapyard near Amsterdam (I think), then on to Harvard Formation Team for spares use, then I think Aces High and traded on to a private owner. I think this was available on ebay recently.

    Hispano

Intereatingly a few years ago I was fortunate enough to have an original Hispano published manual for the type pass through my hands. Their own designation for the type they were using at the time (as it appeared in print on the front cover) – ME-109J

Who cares what they’re called, let’s just enjoy the bloody things while we’re fortunate enough to still have people willing to put money into keeping them in the air. Ultimately that’s all that matters.

    Provost Airframes

Still on the look out for a Provost airframe. Already have a load of airframe, engine and propeller spares. Anyone have any ideas? Who has the former Burmese airframes?

    Thanks,

    George
