Some Boeing propaganda for your personal perusal:

Disclaimer: Not responsible for what Boeing is saying about its products. It’s like trying to get info for the F-22 😉
Apparently Chinooks can operate in far worse weather conditions at sea than Stallions can imagine to. But that may be Chinook propaganda or heresy 🙂
wow thats quite a giant..
However, given that both the Stallion and the Chinook have similar sizes, I was thinking more in the line of a more powerful engine. But its a good point that the tail cannot be folded and thus the larger footprint.. still seems like the long list of benefits of the Chinook – including being able to operate in rough sea conditions that the Stallion cannot imagine, or this interesting post about floating… hmmm makes one wonder.
Okay so faster and greater pay loads and easier maneuverability for the Stallion. Ship borne capability is of course an addition.
Yet I was thinking that there may be a case for simply building a more powerful Chinook (and giving it shipborne capabilities). Would not a single type have made more sense financially? Was it inter-services rivalry?
Maintenance vs. tactical capability ???
cheaper vs ?
economies of scale vs economies of scope ???
What interests me is that very few third world airforces have any serious SEAD/DEAD capability. An exception comes to mind in the Mirages of the Pakistan Air Force armed with Braziliam mar-1s. Darn, thats DEAD not SEAD. I doubt even China has competent dedicated SEAD aircraft yet.
No, I think he is also blaming me, and I doubt I’d look similar 🙂
Its a blanket statement, including anyone he wants to include of course
F-7Gs if China can spare any. I really think its the perfect aircraft for countries like Bangladesh and Sri-Lanka. They’ll regre the FULCRUM if they buy ’em! Maintenance is a nightmare. Ask the Bangladesh air force.
???? … but not that strange model above, that’s clearly an US project (don’t know the real name, but it is one !)
Deino
True, I too recognize it (but can’t name it). Still, it “technically” qualifies as speculation 😀
PS: Cheers and thanks for posting, DongDong2. Love the video
well, I’m just glad to see some speculation on a single engined 5th gen. I think this has been one hell of a blind spot vis-a-vis the MiG-E and whatever China makes (if it does at all)
Have Danika as the female Stig.

Nice Report!
By the way, the “To Let” does not have an “i” missing, it means that there is space to lease!
PS: This apparently is my 666th post
The difference is SAAB has got a great track record spanning over 50 years. Sweden as a whole, got a a great track record. Does India have that, in anything they have tried to produce?
It doesn’t need a track record, it has over 2 and half decades of experience in the LCA development. You have to admit thats a lot of experience, far more than Saab has on the Gripen or on any particular combat aircraft!
I am certain that with a few more billion dollars and a decade more in development, everything will turn out all right. India just has to have patience and hold on, when there is nothing left in you, except for the will which says, “hold on!”
