One interesting spin is that the MiG-E is rumored to be based around a single AL-41 (or derivative). It is also rumored to be a canard delta. Would be interesting to see how it will compare with the J-10 in looks and performance.
Correct! He is our great source of entertainment in here. Since Hamburger/F-18 left,I hardly have a good laugh! Cutting him off from here will deprive us from more laugh! 😀
I wonder what happened to the Hamburger. Maybe we should make an inquiry as to his health.. :p then again maybe not. 😀
It amazes me that Star has not been banned, he manages to trash every thread he enters and frankly talks nothing but rubbish.
I second that. maybe if we get enough votes the mods just might.
Okay folks, I have two questions for you:
How many SU30 MKIs are operational currently?
When are the LCA’s going to get inducted?
How about don’t let anyone of tamil origin near the radar site? A bit racy but is there any other way?
Hyperwarp:
Super Tucano is the answer and throw out the Indian junk. That radar has been going off line way too many times, even before these raids started.
Hyperwarp, you should go and do something about this… perhaps get one of those small commercial radars that has a usb plug and play feature and a nvg.
The thing with India and Pakistan is that any war is only likely to last between 2 weeks to 1 month. After that, neither side has the logistics in place to continue the brawl. Question of RD-93 spares become irrelevant because of this.
F-23
TSR-2
T-4 (Su-100)
Avro Arrow
I also wish they really made a good replacement for the Su-24.
I was thinking, PAF could’nt add two canards on their Mirage fighters in 30 years, just how are they going to integrate far more sophisticated things like Radar and missiles on thier JF-17?
Adding fixed canards is no big deal, surely if they wanted they would be able to do so. They probably didn’t need them as the Grifo radar they installed wasn’t that heavy, therefore, no need to counteract the balance issues. Another point about the canards was slightly lower approach speeds and this was again not a real issue. The Kfir and the cheetah needed them also to look more indigeneous even though they were (majorly) built from key parts secretly imported from France. France as such was a hypocritical nation that was playing two games and fooling the arabs into believing that israelis stole the blue prints.
Really sad. I don’t live far off – i go to a university in virginia as well – we had a special notice about it, in fact. May the innocent rest in peace. I would also like to pray for all the Iraqis murdered by trigger happy american troops in Iraq. Literally murdering people on a whim. I wish forum members would not turn a blind eye to that, just because they are Iraqi or Muslim doesn’t mean they are less than human.

It will have to be Grifo technicians, with the help of Pakistani and Chinese technicians.
As if the embargo has stopped European radars before…not. Ironically the most blatent “offender” was…Britain. Not only did they ship maritime patrol radars, but remember, the radar on the F-7MG prototype was a Super Skyranger.
Grifos had been displayed in Chinese defense exhibitions, and it appears they are not just aiming for the Pakistan market, but also on the Chinese side.
SD-10 probably won’t be integrated with Grifo. because that would mean sharing confidential information with the Italians. The most likely is a third party, and that’s likely to be the R-Darters from South Africa.
Not really. Pakistan is serious in rewarding Grifo for supporting them, having their radars on Mirage III and F-7P/PG. Grifo is also eyeing the F-16 upgrade market.
On the other hand, I think in the end, all the JF-17s will come with Chinese radars, nonetheless.
One key element is Pakistan wants full TOT with their western radar, so they can play around with it themselves. That tends to open up the closed loop logic of China not wanting to share SD-10s ins and outs with italians. Pakistan will also be getting full documentation with the JF-17s so that simplifies integration even further. Or so I think 😀
2 questions!
If PAF choosen a western radar. Who will carry out the intergration of the radar? Chinese side or Pakistan side?
But EU embargo of arms on PRC is still enforced, meaning if intergration of radar is carry out by Chinese side. They will have access of western radar and a lot of implication will come in…
BTW,if using a western radar like Italian Grifo on JF-17,what kind of BVR missiles is available for it? I seriously doubt AIM-120 will be available for intergration on JF-17 with a western radar. Meteor will not be available soon….
So the PAF of considering of using western radar on JF-17 as unrealistic?
I was thinking of the Vixen radar more. Integration could be carried out in Pakistan with whatever radar company is chosen..
No, I think, SA-17 Buk should be the next step, …to punish agressor planes.
You may be right, I am definitely not the Russian SAM expert here 😀
Just to humor you, how about if they just went for an S-400 instead? I mean, why blow up something 30 km away when you can do the same at 3 times that range?
