There is also one “Fokhoven” that still exsit. Fokhoven was a FK 43 which was built after the war by Fokker. IIRC there were built 8 pieces of which one survived.

I would have said that it’s any military wrecks which contain the remains of servicemen.

    In simple terms that is.

And what about mechant navy vessels which sunk during the war? Several of them had militairy personnel onboard like gunners and Liaison officer

    Hi,

I checked the webiste of he museum in Bode, see: http://luftfart.museum.no/flyene/fly-til-restaurering/prosjekt-blackburn-skua/
It is in Norwegian only but in short:

Due to lack funds and workshop availability the Skua has low priioraty. But in 2011 and 2012 they managed to salvage the engine and parts of the aftpart of the cockpit.

    Mathieu.

Good luck with that, Mathieu; IWM had its one airlifted to Duxford slung below a Heeresflieger CH-53, if I can remember. You might end up blowing the museum’s entire exhibition budget on getting an unrestored fuselage of a Spanish built example to the museum site. It would be an expensive undertaking.

Scale models might be a cheaper, more practicable option and at the end of the exhibition, you won’t have to pay the expense of returning the aircraft from whence you received it. You can keep the model as a permanent display.

Doesn’t the Hawkinge Battle of Britain Museum have a large scale model of a CASA Heinkel used in the Battle of Britain movie?

    Hi Nuuumannn,

I am not involved with the museum, there was a article in the newspaper about their search and I was wondering what’s left of all the He/CASA 111’s.
I don’t know what their budget is, but you never know what they can achief with the right contacts/sponsors. And a full scale fibreglass model might be interesting too as it presumably needs less maintenance when standing out door.
But I still hope they manage to show a He 111.

    Best regrads,

    Mathieu.

Maybe a silly question, never having worked with the DC8; but does it have a ‘flap limiting speed’?

All but the landing phase (Full Flap) appeared to be at ‘Take-Off’ flap, and they said they reached 300 mph on the final flypast:confused:

Yes, it has. On another forum there was shown a page from the DC 8 flight manual which stated that max speed with flaps dowm 16-24 dregrees max speed is 210 knots.

    Hi Gents,

Thanks forthe replies! If it is not possible to obtain the real thing, does anyone know of a company that might be able to supply/build a good looking replica? Did they use replica 111 in the BoB movie or any other movie?

    Hi,

There is one thing I have been wondering for some time, I am living close to Leeuwarden in the North of the Netherlands and as you might know there was a very busy airfield during the war. Many nightfighter aces have been there like Lent, Becker and many more counting for many lost bombers.
How is it possible that such airfield could be used by the Germans to September 1944? Would is not been possible to spent more efforts to destroy such airfields ealier in the war and thus save many lives of bomber crews? Perhaps we can call that a betrayal of bombercrew by there own leaders?

    regards,

    Mathieu.

    Hi Bob,

I know someone who might be the right person for you, if you look on this link: http://www.nederlandseluchtvaart.nl/forums/f20-projecten-projects/projecten-nederland-6287/index10.html and looked at the postings made by Paul Stalenberg ( also check the next pages of this link). The job he has done is for the Fokker C.X project of the militairy aviation museum. The only thing is that he lives in the Netherlands, but, I wonder if that is a real problem in these modern days.
If you want to contact him, just let me know.

    Regards,

    Mathieu.
