I also agree!
Happy birthday, Beluga!Boeing has learned from the Beluga.
This modifeid B744F combines functionallity and beauty!

OK, I can understand the functionality, but where’s the beauty in that thing?
Ah but does the Fokker 27 have the same STOL capability as say the HS748? I know that i am slightly biased here…
Yes it has. I can’t finr the length required for landing/take-offs though. I got a book back at my parents place, bu’t not here so can’t look it up. It’s definately STOL though!
boys, boys, do behave! ๐
photo from http://beeldbank.nationaalarchief.nl/. be sure to check this site out, it has Dutch news photos from 1880 to 1990! Lots of old plane photos, though finding what you want may take some time considering the site is Dutch. Using some Dutch keywords may be required, but just entering Boeing, Fokker, Schiphol, etc will bring up nice old results too!
I will be going by car.
park the car at Hatton Cross station and walk further. The parking restrictions are strict and enforced!
Take the tube to Hatton Cross (1st station from T1/2/3, 2nd station from T4). Once there you will be in the approach for runway 27L. If the wind is coming from the west this is the place to be. You can stay at the train station, or cross the street towards the BP gas station, and walk 10 minutes towards T4 where a nice grass field can be found.
If 27R is used you have to walk 10 minutes northerly, but is should not be too hard to find the runway.
Nice pics… Aero Flight is, to all intents and purposes, the limited reincarnation of Aero Lloyd.
Andy
I should sue you for plagiarism! You even used the same wording! :dev2:
Aero Flight is the latest incarnation of Aero Lloyd. The Austrian part of Aer Lloyd was taken by Niki Lauda to form Air Niki.
By my latest count I got around 570 seperate entries excluding biz/private jets but including a very small amount of military and FLYING preserved planes. The NON-FLYING preserved planes have been left out. The photos have been shot at AMS, LHR, LGW, STN, LTN, DUS, EIN, CGN, NRN, SXF, BRU, CDG, Le Bourget, Farnborough, Rotterdam, Woensdrecht and Lelystad.
I was surprised actually to see just how many airlines I had that where no more. I’ll just list them and if you want the whole list just send me a PM or E-mail.

There are probably more airlines on my complete list that I do not even realise that have gone bankrupt. Probably a handful of Turkish ones at least! ๐
To the Walloons, maybe. But that’s not what the Flemish call their capital – they call it Brussels – and they’re the majority.
close, but not quite. The Flemish call it Brussel (last S missing). The naming of SNBA more likely than not has a political reason. Almost every (former) state owned company is argued over wether they should use Dutch or French or both. In this case SNBA decided to go neutral!
Or perhaps this was just easier to market than Brussel/Bruxelles. Who knows?
Like NWA for example buying up a load of DC-9’s?
That’s different, they still had them when NW bought more 2nd hand DC-9s.
But for KLM to revert back to a fleet that has already been fased out to replace the more modern version is quite different. Especially since the DC-10 is no longer being made, and the landing charges at AMS for the ยด10 are astronomical. If you thought the enviro lobby in the UK was strict, try living here for a while.
In any case, you still have to hand over a source. I have not seen or heard anything about it and I got the added benefit of knowing Dutch and regularly speaking KLM employees.
Fokker F27/50/60. The Fokker has no rear ramp though. If you are after a rear ramp you get into military planes and then the C27J and the CASA 295 would be better. Not sure though of the CASA can sustain very rough terrain.
maybe because the maintenance fascilities are at LHR, also if the plane requires maintenance it is probably easier to arrange for a replacement plane at LHR then at PIK or MAN
isn’t that a a massive way around, from Kastrup to AMS to London to Birmingham?
KLM apparently want rid of theirs [the MD-11s]… they want DC-10s instead!!
I would LOVE to know where you found out the information that they want DC-10s. I have not heard anything about that in the Netherlands, neither in the official information nor in the gossip. The MD-11s have a few years left at KLM, and afterwards there’s a good chance they go to Martinair for cargo flights.
You are right they want to dispose of the MD-11s in a few years. The 767s are first to go though as the first leases expire next year. The replacement will be the A330s that have already been ordered, the first of which will be delivered around september or october next year.
Alitalia hopes to purchase 7 Boeing long-haul aircraft and 12 Embraer medium-haul aircraft in 2007 and 2008
Will this order be placed in 2007/08 with delivery later on, or will this order be placed now (or at least soon) for delivery in 2007/08? That’s a large difference!
B747-400 … … 7/22 … … PH-BFI/K/L/M/O/T + 1 other?
That’s the lot, I made a typo in my previous reply. There are only 6 passenger 747s in the new livery.
