My deepest condolences to the bereaved and injured.
Senseless inhumane acts will always take place in all countries, even after yesterday’s evils are residing in hell.
It is at times like these we must all remain strong and united together, terrorists must not and will not succeed in changing our lives through the killings of innocent civilians.
Yes, already discussed, but I feel it warrants it’s own thread? 🙂
Great news for Bombardier and Porter. I imagine Porter can create quite a niche with business travelers with the extended range and faster flight times of the C-Series but the key will be if they can steal the lucrative corporate contracts from AC (my guess is they unfortunately can’t due to the limited destinations they serve).
They also taking a lot of foreign new pilots as co-pilots, with limited flying hours before. Taking young co-pilots will not create significant problem if the pilots/captains already seasoned ones. Well at least that what i read from those senior pilots social media.
I read on another forum that Lion Air take on a lot of American pilots fresh out of flight school with around 200 hours. They then essentially fly for free (or at least very little pay) in return for flight experience and references. Once they’ve got enough experience under their belts they go back to the US to fly for the majors.
Although, how true that is I don’t know.
Well, at least we now know why they’ve ordered so many aircraft over the past couple of years. They need replacements! :diablo:
What a load of absolute ****. I have no problem with people fulfilling their religious obligations, but it’s when it disrupts the rest of us that I get annoyed. I wouldn’t give up the seat I’d booked and am fully entitled to, to go and sit at the back of the aircraft because of someone’s religious beliefs without a fight.
If his religion says he can’t sit in public with women, perhaps he shouldn’t have decided to travel by plane? Just a thought?…
And re-routing flights to avoid cemeteries? The simple solution to that is to fly over the cemetery anyway and never tell the passengers…
Seriously, when will this airline have it’s licence revoked?
It seems like just a few weeks ago I was saying on another thread that LionAir has a weekly overrun. Sooner or later one of these accidents is going to be really horrific, they’ve been lucky.
Very funny, at least he has a sense of humor about it.

Well I have to disagree with you there… Airbus has invested hundreds of millions into the UK over the years at Broughton? According to the Airbus website, some 100,000 people contribute to Airbus wings 😮

The reason we don’t have an A320 plant is simply because a) we can’t compete in terms of pay against countries like Germany, the US and China and b) it’s worth Airbus’ while investing the money in the US and China instead where they fight tooth and nail against Boeing for market share.
Great shots, Putin sure knows how to travel.
A computer model is only as good as its input data, and because no one really knows how the climate of the North Atlantic will change over the next 50 years it’s good to take the research with a pinch of salt.
If a part is attached to a plane in such a way that it remains usable when it is taken off and put into a new frame, what prevents the attachment of a brand new part to the cannibalized frame?
In theory, nothing. But you’re assuming that everything removed was well-documented in logs. This may not have been the case, so there’s simply no way of knowing what was taken from the aircraft.
Does anyone know what happened here? I’m somewhat inclined to say it was a test, given the number of people watching and the tv camera perfectly situated behind the impact object to get a nice side angle view.
Also, assuming the aircraft landed on the same runway shown on the video, it would have hit it first time round on the landing, surely? 😀
EDIT: ok, my bad. It does say it was a ‘stunt’ in the title (the heli is also a give away). But does anyone know why? Was it for a film or tv?
In theory I have nothing wrong with unions. They ensure fair, decent pay and working conditions for the working man but in practice they’re unreasonable and counter-productive on a national scale. She was the first (and last) politician with large enough balls to take them on, and for that I salute her.
But it wasn’t just her work at home that earns my respect, under her leadership we forged and strengthened some of the greatest international alliances this world has ever seen.
“this great lady has not only served her country well, she has served the free world well. She is truly a great statesman. So much so that I’ll correct what I just said: She is a great stateswoman holding her own among all the statesmen of the world.”
