was there many there?
In a word, no! It was pretty desolate, I kept expecting tumbleweed!

The “world’s first flapless plane”? Didn’t the Wright brothers beat them to it?
I’m in agreement about the cropping, you definitely need some space around the aircraft. I’d also much rather see a picture of something interesting that is slightly underexposed/overexposed, etc. than a technically perfect picture of a 737, for example, that’s already been photographed hundreds of times before, with nothing but sky in the background. I prefer it when there is something in the background so that the picture tells a bit of story, even if that story is only “this aircraft was at this airport / near this mountain / behind this tug once”, rather than just “this aircraft was once in a random bit of sky that could’ve be anywhere”.
Last Tuesday afternoon this Strikemaster came over as I was descending Snowdon via the Rhyd Ddu path.
Due between 15:55 & 16:20 BST.
Thanks guys. I did think I would’ve liked the Spit to have taken up just slightly more of the frame, but now the more I look at it, the more I like it.
It was rather far away. I didn’t have clue which part of the airfield it was going to display over, and anyway I could only find one place to park where there was an unobscured view.
As for why it was there I don’t know, but according to the BBMF website there’s also a Spitfire flypast due at Chicksands at 18:45 BST tonight so keep your eye out Ollie.
Interesting stuff. Thanks for posting. I’d say the “DH Moth” logo on the front of the fuselage in the first photo gives away that it isn’t an Albatros!
Please pardon my ignorance,BUT,did I hear David Jason say that the two seat Spit had seen action in the BoB?
When did two seat Spits appear?
What WAS the history of the one he flew in.

Those P180s may be ugly, but they make up for it with a horrendous whining noise! 😮
what aircraft would you operate?
There’ll be a load of Tornados going spare soon, can’t they spray up a few of them? :diablo:
The Reds may have become a bit stale to seasoned airshow attendees, although I saw them three times in 5 days last month and enjoyed each display, but they still seem to be impressing the general public and that is probably more important to them. At the Bristol Balloon Fiesta the crowd was spontaneously applauding each manoeuvre!
Nice pics, I particularly like the Etihad.
Thanks guys. Yes, it’s a Beech 18 but I only know that because it says so on the tail! I’ll take DRs word on the Volpar conversion, it’s not an aircraft that I know anything about. Here’s the FAA record for it though N663TB
Here’s some more photos:

The backdrop certainly does add something. It’s certainly a lot prettier than the cement works at Sywell! I think the Cat is my favourite too.
