    is transvection legal?

Of course it is legal. You’ve just got yourselves to get a ‘Transvection License’, and you can fly any broomstick you want. With a ‘Commercial Transvection License’ you can even operate such a device commercially 😎 .

How about a ‘B-24 cockpit section caravan’? Would perfectly fit behind my old Land Rover!

I’m curious now. And a bit afraid. Should I go out and try to find a jar of Marmite? And if I find one, should I dare to put a bit on some toast? With salted butter or unsalted butter? I like Guinness (a lot!!), but will I like Marmite?

First step is: check if it is available over here, as I’ve never noticed it on the shelves. But when I find it I will take this next big step for mankind and TRY IT!!

there are less than 10,000 people world wide that even could identify it. Only about half would be interested in a book and probably only half of those would actually cough up $60-70 that it would most like cost.
    Patrick

I would buy your book, without hesitating for a tenth of a second. I love that airplane since I saw it as a kid. I lived near Rotterdam Airport (Zestienhoven) then, and I saw lots of Carvairs clawing their way up in the air right after take-off and I was impressed by the sight and sound.
Later on I had different jobs at RTM ( last job was dispatcher). During the early ’80s I had to clear out the archives of the company I worked for, and amongst the rubbish which emerged from the basement was a box full of wonderful (lots of them Carvair-) pics, which were used in the company magazine during the ’60s and early ’70s. Instead of throwing them into the bin I asked if I could have them; and yes I could, so they’re now in MY basement 😀 . I am no expert on copyrights, so I am reluctant to put them up on any site, as I can give no credit.

But there must be an exception for this Carvair-dedicated topic: here is an old publicity shot of G-ASHZ (aka N89FA), when she was brand spanking new and taken just a few minutes after the ceremony when she was christened with her original name: “Maasbrug”, after a famous bridge in Rotterdam. The officials are walking away, no doubt to enjoy the delights of well filled tables with food and drinks. And there were a lot more of such pictures in that box…

The first Mil Mi-12 (CCCP-21142) is still stored at the Mil factory at Lyubertsy-Panki. I found it on Google Earth.

Hehe that link’s been posted three times now 😉
    Still great though! 😀

Well, sorry then. But it is very time consuming to check out all the video links…. Maybe a small caption about the contents will prevent double, triple and quadruple posting from the same links?
