    John Hackett’s books (The Third World War and a sequel to that) are a lot better than Clancy’s.

    I think I’ve read “The Third World War”. It ends with the Russians nuking Birmingham, right?

    Surely the F-35s stealth capabilities will enable it to defeat teh SU-30 in a dogfight!?

    A synonym for dogfighting is WVR. WVR = Within Visual Range. Now unless the all-powerful Americans have devised a foolproof invisibility coating for the JSF, no, I doubt the F35’s stealth capabilities will help it defeat the Su-30 in a dogfight.

    No idea. I doubt it though, because I think that the JSF range/payload capabilities are far exceeded by the Su-30MKI, aren’t they? Anyhoo, this is all in the realm of conjecture right now, so I wouldn’t take it too seriously.
