As someone who has just travelled by train from Runcorn to Cardiff and back in a day, i would have welcomed an air link from Liverpool to Cardiff. Yesterday proved a very long day, left Runcorn Station at 07.30 and got back at 22.30. Their were no delays or any problems on the trains it just takes a very long time.

I think Liverpool to Aberdeen should also prove popular as well, this route has operated in the past and was well supported.

I have to say i felt Air Southwest were quite a good outfit and I would travel with then again. While waiting for the return flight at Plymouth I notice on the TV screen a couple of Gatwick flights were by bus to Newquay. I thing the area may suffer from changable (especially this summer !!!) also I presume the airports down there may have less navigational equipment than some.

Plymouth Airport’s interior was fine for a short wait. i think the runway is being extended there, can anyone confirm that ??

    cheers

Great news for Norwich, nice to see more and more regional airports getting more and routes.

I am still very surprised that Humberside only has a KLM AMS flight and Eastern Aberdeen flights. Surely some sort of airline has got to pick up a London/Dublin/Belfast/The Spanish Costas, routes soon.

I agree there used to be a service Humberside-Norwich-heathrow for many years by Air UK. When it went those two regions were left with no link to the capital, and it still takes a long time to get to london from both places. Heathrow also lost all transfer business to Amsterdam, as it has from many regional airports.

good news about the Air Wales NWI-DUB/CWL link. I have actually wanted to travel from the southwest to East Anglia before and its not easy at all ! Ended up flying CWL-LCY plus a hire car.

I think most UK airports over-charge for food/drink…………maybe you might not be ripped off so much at the very small ones Lydd,Shoreham and the like !!

The best snack I had was at Amstedam, a Crab salad roll, so nice I had two !

Yes, I think Easyjet are not too bad, as they call 30 passengers at a time which does pretty much the same thing as allocated seats. I agree Ryanair is awful with boarding…………..and most things actually !

On the subject of boarding was at LHR on Sunday evening boarding a BMI flight to Manchester, they did call the flight by rows, however many people took no notice. As a result finding your seat became more difficult with people in the aisle, who should have waited for their rows to be called.

There is a lot of VFR traffic between Liverpool and Dublin, so the mid-day times are ok, i agree a morning and an evening service would be much better for business traffic, hopefully EI will introduce that if they do well.

I would say FR do not cater well for business travellers on the route anyway given their times LPL/DUB 1030-1115, 1250-1335 and 2225-2310……DUB/LPL 0920-1005, 1140-1225 and 2115-2200.

Sorry Shamrock321 hadn’t seen your earlier post been in Greece for 2 weeks 🙂

That’s sad for Swansea, its bad when areas loose important links to Capital Cities/ Hubs, makes it harder for them to prosper

I think Easyjet, has the edge over Ryanair, I had a long delay once and there was no quible, everyone on the flight was refunded. I couldnt see FR doing that.

However as a rule, the majority of flights I have taken with EZY have been fine.
