At least one was broken up at 6MU, Brize Norton

Doubt it came from NN660…..there are 371 stamps on my canopy iirc. VS were very good at reusing parts developed for earlier members of the Spitfire family in later variants.
From NN660, we have at least 7 different parts ‘recycled’ from previous Mks of Spit.
So although 371 was first used on NN660, chances are parts also on later spiteful/seafangs.
Further, NN660 was well spanked. That said they did remove quite alot of surface wreckage.

The folded zinc coated end fitting I mean can be seen on the second pic of my harness on the Hurri. The flat plate part has a single bolt that holds it either to an extender part (as utilised on the Hurricane) or straight to seat pan. This flat plate is missing from the P40 part. I don’t like speculating, but nomadic people are well known for making good use of parts…..recycling, those straps may be useful. So maybe it was unbolted?

It would be nice if it was in better condition. When I bought it (with a spit windscreen) I almost decided to leave it behind!!
