If I did not know you and more about it, I would say it painted a rosy picture for the future….which is a pity as it seems that will not be the case. Lots of potential with the hangar, aviation, buses etc.

But the anson, buses etc will move on?

I know you probably told us, but why is the best hangar empty? What do they expect to put in it?

I have a perspex for a Mk1 which, as others have said, is the same….I now need to make the lower part of the frame that holds it to the airframe…..I asked for drawings on here, but had no response….(on a Mk1/2 that is)

Tis a sad tale. I, too, was hoping for great things at Hooton. It would be interesting if anyone at Hooton would like to say something.

The escorting to toilet business is amazing…

Would be lovely to see more such programmes – Coastal Command would get my vote. My grandfather’s memoirs are being published in October and will certainly give some insight to long patrols and danger. Would also like to see one on training command

Battle of Britain film, Polish pilot shot down, bails out landing in a field as yokels run up to him….
    ‘Gut afternoon!’
    ‘Good afternoon my ****!’

My Dad taught Charlie their African Grey to say it!!

I too love the Catalina scene in Always.

Also like the First flight of Cliff Secord’s Gee Bee in Rocketeer as well as the Jenny scene with the tanker.

Great Stearman flying in ‘2nd Hand Lions’ I strongly suggest you see that film if you haven’t…. very uplifting.

They did spend some time on Coventry too. Well balanced in my view. They also used the Bomber Harris quote (they sowed the wind, now they will reap the whirlwind) which was good. The area bombings were very sad and tragic…but then again, so was Coventry, Rotterdam and all the other cities and of course extermination of 6 million Jews, 22 million Russians and countless other. So, balanced coverage taking into account the huge sacrifice by Bomber Command too.
The only thing not really mentioned was the other the heavy bombers.
I find the MacGregor brothers’ enthusiasm and manner infectious. Brilliant!

Also, they made an excellent point about BC taking the war to the Germans…..when all in UK was gloom..
