Smoothrite is a spray made by Hammerite people available in brush or spray form from Halfords…B&Q etc…the spray is the best and replicates the black anodised finish of MB seats very well…really must go to bed now!!

I know the feeling, ive had to strip off the plastic on a PR7, brush away all the lovely corrosion and all i can do now is paint it shiny black 😡 Bex

spray it with lots of black smoothrite…works well…..the same paint works well on ejection seats too….

Yes Tim, effectively an early F1-F6 Hunter type grip. I have a report somewhere from A&AEE slating the early hunter grips…so I suppose that Dunlop had to use up those spare bits somewhere!!

I would pay £1500 for a flight in a Spitty and a waggle of the wings!!! (Sorry Stuart!!). I loved my Mustang flight this year and the B17 last year, would need to lose some weight tho’ for TE308!!!

As far as I am concerned, £1500 is worth the memory it will leave me with. The run and break in the Stang was outstanding with g levels I had only ever experienced in fast jets.

I know but it was just strange that when I was there a few years back the place was full of “No Photography” notices, yet one can walk up to the main gate and ask the gaurd about taking a photo of the T4 and they are like “Oh yeah feel free”.

Its a shame that the T4 is at Boscombe in some ways as its the only T4 and might be better in a museum, Newark maybe as it fits in with the training collection they have, however Newark have a T5 so might not want the T4 anyway.

What a great sequence; slightly dodgy filming and then You Tube applies added grunge, but still a real gem, and thanks to the author for taking the trouble to show it.

Was that George Aird and Kermit Weeks being interviewed? The final wing-rocking pass is a real tear-jerker, and as the echo of the merlins faded over the Perthshire hills, everybody there knew that she really was gone for good.
