I can check my parts manual….I might come a begging!
Sounds like a classic grip of the type fitted to Hurricane, Whirlwind etc aircraft. If you look on the favourite grip yoke you’ll finmd a picture. It is a lovely grip and quite valuable….I would offer it a home…..but then again many others would too! Post 19 in link below

Yep that’ll do it. Did you get my email?
Mossie grip
Gallons is older. Specific gravity varies and modern gauges have a compensation for spec gravity differences (I.e for temp)
I should have looked closer, it does look very similar to the pucara grip I had
Whirlwind or copilot wessex
That’s my broken one, I have a better one
Great posts chaps. Lovely grips. B25 is cool. We need to see if we can do a mega grip/yoke fest at Cockpitfest
Martyn, that Swift is gorgeous and so rare. I still need a copy of the manual you teased me with at the Fest!
Cees, love that yoke and cockpit.
My hope is that we can add photos to this thread (and update the list) so that it does provide a resource for identifying/collective knowledge.
I noticed, we have no Spitfire there. So here is the control column from K9844
Just finished my display for the Tornado GR4. It is mounted on a column. The other grip is F3. The side by side shots show differences between the grips. I will post better shots later
I guess I will need to edit the list….unless anyone else fancies it!!!
My ‘other project’ is getting there…though has been more costly and complex than first envisaged! The lanc yoke has bits from all over the country but most came from Mag Electron. I had hoped to have acquired a decent Lanc yoke in the 25 years I have been amassing that pile, but it was not to be!!!
nice Corsair grip there Ian…..you were very lucky…Im jealous!
To make this thread more a resource, I have popped a list of all the grip/yoke/columns that we have photos of here. Sadly many phots have disappeared, but as far as I can see, the following is complete; feel free to modify!
