That is a very good question Paul!
I am hoping there may be a clue in Dr Gordon’s book – but it is a very short book!

There must be some reason the cut down prop boss ended up with a plate with all the relevant details on it! I was hoping that the book(let) might have said – ‘I have the prop boss from the aircraft that…..yatta yatta’
Hey ho….someone in the know might know and see this?!

Hi Geoff, and cheers, yep certainly do! Some of you tubes are on the centre section.
This project has been a huge part of my life. I started with a Mk1 tailwheel (from a Witney blanket factory) and a triple brakes gauge – acquired around 1982/3. It has been with me in the good and bad times.

Running around the country getting parts, straightening crash items…..its all been fun. I just need to focus on it now! It will be one of the most original Hurris in the world…

I dont think Mr Adlam has any of it now.

Lovely day – packed seafront, friendly and fun. Was nice to chat to Martin and Beermat. Lovely display by the Cat. Richard Grace was in one of the TRG Pitts, coming back later and giving a wonderful display in the Spit.

The Auster & Birddog were lovely too – well presented.

Had lots of interest in my display which was nice.

Many aircraft can unlock the tail or nose wheel for ground towing….maybe thats the case? I would think differential was the way?

Hi Martin, come and say hi! The stalls will be on the Promenade between the Spa Pavillion and the Town Hall. The display will be along the sea line as it were!

Not wishing to divert this thread from the wonderful Dornier accomplishment, but to be fair to me, I was not aiming my post at anyone specific or denigrating anyone, least of all Andy and Peter who have done much in our shared interest of the BoB and the air war over the southern counties. My family just made a comment on several threads here which made me think (a first, I know!). It was interesting and a little sad to seei how ‘we’ are percieved by others outside the sphere. I gave a talk to a Rotary Club last night on aircraft preservation and being a total aviation nut – we are all passionate (and, certainly in my case, eccentric). My family would have expected more positiveness from forumites about Dornier, Vulcans, Burma Spits etc than negativity (though it can sometimes be hard to distinguish between one person’s negativity and another’s realism!). So no offence intended from me!

Back to thread – does anyone know when we can vsit the Do17 in her bath?
